On the afternoon of February 27, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong chaired a regular working briefing meeting with the Presidential Office to assess the situation of task implementation in the past time and deploy work directions in the coming time.
Also attending were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
According to VNA, a report by a representative of the leadership of the Presidential Office at the meeting said that in February 2026, right on the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, a large volume of work and many activities were deployed before, during and immediately after the Tet holiday.
Under the direct leadership and direction of the President and Vice President, the Office's leaders thoroughly grasped and organized the serious implementation of assigned tasks; proactively developed plans and synchronously deployed advisory and general work to serve domestic and foreign affairs activities of State leaders, ensuring thoughtfulness, safety, and efficiency.
The Office has coordinated to advise and serve the State leaders to fully perform the tasks assigned by the Politburo, the Secretariat, according to the provisions of the Constitution; attend key leadership meetings, the Secretariat; organize Tet greetings, visits, and gifts at the local level; attend the Tet tree planting launching ceremony in Lao Cai.
Work related to the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term is being implemented closely. The Office also advises and submits decisions on international treaties, nationality, and commendation; well implements judicial, defense - security, and foreign affairs work.
Immediately after the holiday, officials, civil servants, and employees return to work with a spirit of urgency and discipline, contributing to ensuring the stable and effective operation of the Agency right from the first days of the year.
Concluding, the President acknowledged and praised the spirit of responsibility and proactiveness of the leadership collective, officials, civil servants, and employees of the Presidential Office for their efforts to complete a large volume of work in the period before, during, and immediately after Tet, ensuring the smooth, effective, and absolutely safe operation of the agency.
The President emphasized that the task requirements for the coming time are very heavy in the context that the world and regional situation continues to have many unpredictable developments, and it is also the first quarter to implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress and action programs.
The President requested the Office to continue to improve the quality of strategic advisory work, closely follow the work program of the Central Government, the Politburo, and the Secretariat; carefully prepare content to serve State leaders attending important conferences and deploy tasks according to assignment.
The President especially noted that advising and serving the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Councils at all levels must be strict and in accordance with regulations, contributing to the successful organization of the great festival of the whole people; at the same time, proactively advising on contents related to high-level foreign affairs activities in accordance with functions and tasks; special amnesty work must ensure caution, objectivity, and compliance with the law.
President Luong Cuong requested the Office, based on its functions and tasks, to continue to study and firmly grasp the situation, proactively propose supplementing the work plan of the President and Vice President in 2026 to organize the proactive and effective implementation of key tasks; and at the same time strengthen administrative discipline and order; improve coordination responsibility between units.
The President believes that with the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and high determination, the Presidential Office will continue to successfully complete the assigned tasks, contributing to effectively serving the activities of State leaders in the new situation.
