On the morning of May 4, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Ho Chi Minh City (electoral unit No. 12) came to offer incense and flowers at the National Historical and Cultural Relic Hoc Mon District Palace (Hoc Mon commune, Ho Chi Minh City).
In a solemn atmosphere, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the working delegation respectfully offered incense and observed a minute of silence to commemorate Ho Chi Minh, former leaders of the Party Central Committee, along with heroic martyrs, comrades, and people who bravely sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Keeping a souvenir book here, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his emotion at visiting the National Historical and Cultural Relic site of Hoc Mon District Palace - where the Nam Ky Uprising event took place (November 23, 1940) and preserved many struggle events throughout the long historical journey of soldiers and people in 18 Vuon Trau villages.
The National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized that the spirit of suicide for the Fatherland and determination to live of the Nam Ky Uprising soldiers has contributed to fostering patriotism and indomitable will for our Party and our nation to win victory in the August Revolution and two long-term resistance wars, so that the country can be completely independent, unified, and the people can live in peace, prosperity, and happiness.
Clearly stating that the relic is a place to educate invaluable revolutionary traditions for young generations, the National Assembly Chairwoman requested the Party Committee, government, people of Ho Chi Minh City and Hoc Mon commune to preserve and promote it so that today's and future generations can continue to learn and follow the spirit of "Nam Ky Uprising", firmly step on the path of building and protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, developing Ho Chi Minh City to be civilized - modern - meaningful, rising to become a super-urban of international stature, making increasingly greater contributions to the development of the country in the new era - the era of national prosperity.

National historical and cultural relic Hoc Mon District Palace carries many outstanding historical, cultural and military values. Historically, this place is associated with two typical events: the uprising of 18 Vuon Trau villages and the Nam Ky Uprising in 1940.
In terms of culture, the struggles have left many verses and folk songs praising the resilient and indomitable spirit of the local people.
In terms of military, the relic reflects the art of organizing forces, building revolutionary bases and developing guerrilla warfare - valuable lessons for later resistance wars.
