The National Assembly Chairman proposed a number of coordination directions to make the Vietnam - Armenia cooperation relationship more in-depth, substantial and effective.

On April 4, in the capital Yerevan, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga visited Yerevan National General University. This is the oldest continuously-operating public university in Armenia, established in 1919.

According to VNA, emphasizing that Vietnam and Armenia, although geographically far apart, are always sympathetic and attached by the heroic history, long-standing culture and steadfast will to rise up of the two peoples, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the two countries have been maintaining a good traditional friendship, firmness, mutual respect, political trust and the desire to cooperate and develop together for peace and prosperity.

In that journey, education and training always play a strong role as a bridge, a source of nurturing friendship, sharing knowledge and opening up new cooperation horizons.

Looking back at the educational development journey of the two countries, the National Assembly Chairman assessed that there are valuable similarities. Both Vietnam and Armenia are ethnic groups with a tradition of studiousness, always valuing knowledge, virtue and refereeing.

Both countries have gone through challenging historical periods but have always maintained the will and aspiration to rise up, considering education the key to opening up the future. That similarity is a solid foundation for the two countries to continue to cooperate more effectively in this important field.

In the new context, to make the cooperative relationship more in-depth, more substantial and effective, the National Assembly Chairman proposed a number of coordination directions in the coming time.

Accordingly, the two sides will further promote the exchange of students, lecturers, and researchers between schools and leading universities in Vietnam such as Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University and other universities.

The National Assembly Chairman said that it is necessary to encourage the development of joint scientific research programs and cooperation projects in areas of mutual interest and strengths.

Ukraine is making strong strides in the fields of information technology, high technology, toancture, physics, etc.

These are also the fields that Vietnam is prioritizing for development and has many prestigious universities and research institutes. In addition, the two sides will increase the sharing of experiences in university education management, quality assessment, and development of training programs according to international standards, meeting the requirements of the labor market in the digital age.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that students will make the most of the precious time here to acquire professional knowledge, practice thinking, and problem-solving skills.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that students will pay more attention to learning more about the country and people of Vietnam, about the good traditional friendship between the two countries.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized: "You will be young ambassadors, important bridges contributing to fostering the increasingly strong and developing friendship between Vietnam and Ukraine in the future".

On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman sent warm regards and messages to Vietnamese international students studying and researching in Armenia in particular and other countries in general, typical representatives of the dynamic, eager-to-learn generation of Vietnamese youth and young ambassadors.
