According to Mr. Pham Van Mien (born in 1964), to participate in the land auction in Nhat Tan commune, Tien Lu district (Hung Yen), his family deposited 360 million VND. This amount was a joint savings of the extended family.
On the day of the auction, his children were busy working, so he represented them to attend.

"Yesterday, I knew it was a day off (Giao To Hung Vuong - PV) so I did not submit an application. My mood is also unstable. This morning, everyone learned about it, relatives and neighbors just started asking questions...", Mr. Mien said in tears.
According to Mr. Mien, immediately after he submitted the information at the auction, the staff of Vietnam Auction Joint Stock Company discovered the incident and discussed it with him. "I only know that before leaving, the big family met and agreed to collect that amount of money, pay the correct amount of money that could be arranged," Mr. Mien said sadly.
According to Mr. Mien, this is also the first time he has participated in an auction. Because his children work as workers at the company, a nephew is suffering from anorexia and is being treated in Hanoi, so he is quite confused.
Today, Mr. Mien will meet with the head of Van Tuong village to make a petition and explain the incident.
Previously, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Giang - an auctioneer at Vietnam Auction Joint Stock Company - who ran the land auction on April 6 in Nhat Tan commune, Tien Lu district (Hung Yen) said that due to customer confusion, the auction recorded the wrong bid of 4.92 billion VND/m2 of land (startup price of 18 million VND/m2).
Accordingly, at the auction of land in the new residential area No. 1 of Nhat Tan commune, Tien Lu district, a customer over 60 years old, a local resident, mistakenly recorded the price of the entire plot of land as the price of 1m2 of land.
Also according to Ms. Giang, in fact, everyone knows that the auction participant was confused, not the object of intentionally fighting the auction. "During the session, the auction asked to pay the price in each square meter, the people recorded the price of the land. The information stated on the customer's vote, we had to record the reality," Giang said.
