On the afternoon of August 21, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received a delegation of the National Assembly Youth Union of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) led by the Head of the Nakasone Yasutaka Committee to visit and work in Vietnam.
Congratulating Mr. Nakasone Yasutaka on being elected as Head of the LDP Youth Union, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that along with the visit to Vietnam by President of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentarians' Friendship Union, Ms. Yuko Obuchi (from August 7-9, 2025), this visit of key members of the LDP Youth Union, along with a large number of parliamentarians from Japanese localities, will contribute to promoting Vietnam - Japan relations, as well as foreign exchange and youth exchange between the two countries.
Head of the Japan Liberal Democratic Youth Union Nakasone Yasutaka expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the solemn anniversary of the 80th success of the August Revolution and the National Day of Vietnam (September 2). The Head of Nakasone Yasutaka affirmed that he will continue to work with the youth forces of the two countries to promote the relationship between the two countries in depth and effectively.
Mr. Nakasone Yasutaka also hopes that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the fields of infrastructure construction, national defense - security, tourism, labor; cooperation on channels not only in the Central but also in the local level, and people-to-people exchanges.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated the substantial and effective exchanges and exchanges between the Japan Liberal Democratic Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union as well as the young parliamentarians of the two countries in recent times. The delegation also had a successful meeting with the Vietnam Young National Assembly Delegation.
The National Assembly Chairman hopes that after this visit to Vietnam, many lawmakers will join the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union; many local lawmakers will participate, mobilize and support the establishment of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union at the local People's Council; emphasizing that this will be a bridge to support and promote the relationship between the two countries.
Agreeing with the proposal of Head of the Japan Liberal Democratic Youth Union Nakasone Yasutaka, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that Vietnam and Japan need to continue promoting cooperation in economy, trade, investment and cooperation in new areas of science - technology as well as green transformation and digital transformation.
Emphasizing that local cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, cultural and educational cooperation play an important role in contributing to strengthening the solid social foundation of bilateral relations, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two sides continue to pay attention to promoting cooperation in this field.
The National Assembly Chairman also suggested that Japan continue to support policies to enhance and expand the reception of Vietnamese workers to Japan as well as support improving the quality of life, improving working conditions and social security for the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Japan.
