On May 12, the Steering Committee for the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation of Ho Chi Minh City (abbreviated as the City Steering Committee) announced that it had established a subcommittee to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and Deputy Head of the City Steering Committee - was assigned to the role of Head of the Subcommittee.
Participating in the administration of the subcommittee, there were deputy heads of the subcommittee including: Mr. Vo Van Hoan - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, as the Deputy Head of the Standing Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan - Director of Department of Home Affairs; Mr. Lam Dinh Thang - Director of Department of Science and Technology.
The subcommittee also has the participation of 9 members who are leaders of departments, branches and the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center. The Department of Science and Technology is assigned as the standing agency, acting as a consulting and implementation unit of the Subcommittee.
Earlier, on 6.5, the Standing Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee decided to consolidate and rename the Steering Committee to implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthrough development of science, technology, innovation and transformation of national digits in Ho Chi Minh City, into a Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Convert Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen - Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will hold the role of Head of the Steering Committee.
According to Mr. Lam Dinh Thang - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, immediately after the Politburo issued Resolution 57, Ho Chi Minh City proactively established a City Steering Committee, synchronously deployed from the city to the grassroots.
Ho Chi Minh City also issued more than 10 programs and plans related to science and technology, digital transformation, innovation and microchip industry.
In recent times, Ho Chi Minh City has organized 7 major seminars and discussions to thoroughly grasp the Resolution and collect opinions from experts, businesses, and people.
At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City focuses on human resource training, with 5 training courses in 2025 on artificial intelligence and information security for 284 staff, along with creative competitions such as "Miconductor Design for Smart Urban" and the high school science research competition.
Administrative reform has achieved many results: restructuring 1,718 processes, saving more than 3,500 working hours, simplifying 1,450 procedures. Currently, 79.74% of full online public services have been deployed.
