On the morning of May 12, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong presented the decision to appoint Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang as Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City. The term of office is 5 years.
Notably, this is the second time Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang has been awarded an appointment decision in just over 2 months.
Previously, at the end of February 2025, Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang was appointed as Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment after the Department merged with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
On April 18, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council agreed to change the name of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
Also on the morning of May 12, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong presented the decision to appoint 6 Deputy Directors of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, including Mr. Vo Trung Truc, Nguyen Minh Nhut, Huynh Van Thanh, Nguyen Xuan Hoang, Nguyen Huu Hoai Phu and Duong Duc Trong.

Speaking at the decision -making ceremony, Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong highly appreciated the efforts of the leadership and officials and officials of the Department in the transition period.
