Will submit to the National Assembly for comments and approval of many contents
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh said that 2024 is a year of special importance, the whole country is accelerating and making breakthroughs in implementing socio-economic development tasks, striving to achieve and exceed the goals and targets of the term.
Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh said that in 2024, the Committee on Culture and Education continued to promote achievements, uphold the tradition of solidarity, dedication, responsibility, innovation, creativity, flexibility, and made many efforts in implementing law-making, supervising and deciding on important issues of the country.
Regarding the work of law making, it is expected that in the upcoming 8th Session, the Committee on Culture and Education will submit to the National Assembly for comments and approval of many contents. These include the draft Law on Cultural Heritage (amended); the draft Law on Teachers; the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising and a draft Resolution of the National Assembly on approving the investment policy of the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2025-2035.
According to Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh, these are important contents, affirming the important position and role of culture and education for the rapid and sustainable development of the country in the new conditions. The draft Laws and Resolutions have difficult and complicated contents, having a great impact on social life, so the Committee on Culture and Education is requested to closely coordinate with ministries and branches in the work of developing draft Laws and Resolutions.
Proactive and flexible in monitoring activities
Regarding the draft Law on Teachers, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh noted that this is a completely new Law project in both content and form, so it is necessary to immediately catch up with innovative thinking during the construction process, while ensuring compliance with the direction of the Politburo.
During the process of drafting the Law, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly also assigned the Committee on Culture and Education to coordinate with the drafting agency to research in a new way of thinking, citing the contents that can be inherited, and specifying the differences and specificities in the Law draft.
Regarding supervision work, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh highly appreciated the fact that the Committee for Culture and Education has been proactive and flexible in its supervision activities, with focused and key supervision contents; discovered, recommended amendments, supplements, and improvements to policies and laws, as a basis for deciding on important issues of the country, contributing to ensuring discipline, order, and improving the effectiveness of State management.
Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh said that the Committee on Culture and Education has been very proactive in grasping, researching, and synthesizing practices to generalize and systematize issues and have made very correct proposals and recommendations, close to the requirements and trends of innovation in the activities of the National Assembly, overcoming the situation of "waiting for rice from the north", clearly demonstrated in the cultural field that the Committee has been in charge of in the past and in the upcoming educational field.
In 2025, the Committee on Culture and Education was assigned by the National Assembly to conduct a special topic of supervision on the implementation of policies and laws on the development and use of high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of socio-economic development.
