On September 17, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Steering Committee for summarizing 100 years of the Party leading the Vietnamese revolution, orienting the leadership of national development in the next 100 years and summarizing 40 years of implementing the Platform for building the country in the transitional period to socialism (Steering Committee) held its second meeting, according to VNA.
At the meeting, the Steering Committee gave opinions on two detailed outlines: Report summarizing 100 years of the Party leading the Vietnamese revolution (1930-2030), orientations for leading the country's development in the next 100 years (2030-2130) and Report summarizing 40 years of implementing the Platform for building the country in the transition period to socialism.
Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that this is a strategic task of our Party and nation. A century of revolutionary leadership crystallizes the bravery and wisdom of the Party, the creativity of the people and the great sacrifice of many generations.
Our responsibility is to clarify the stature of the achievements that have changed the destiny of the nation, draw long-term valuable lessons, and prepare a scientific basis for the country's development path in the next century.
Technological change, population, environment, and international relations raise many issues beyond existing experience. The summary must help the Party recognize the opportunities, risks, and capabilities that need to be prepared to proactively lead development.
The people must be present throughout the summary process as historical creative subjects; must clearly see the people's strength and people's intellect in forming and implementing policies, supervising power and enjoying achievements.
Leadership effectiveness must be verified by the ability to solve the country's problems, protect legitimate rights and interests, and improve the quality of life of the people.
Vision to 2130 requires thinking beyond the limit of one term, associated with the responsibility of many generations; it is necessary to identify values that must be maintained, capabilities that must be accumulated, and development spaces that need to be opened up.
In particular, it is necessary to clarify how the Party needs to innovate thinking, leadership methods and prepare staff to lead a country to develop at a higher level.
The General Secretary and President requested to focus on completing the outline to orient research. Issues that have been well-founded need to be clearly identified; new issues with different opinions must be set as research tasks with appropriate verification methods.
The outline needs to create conditions for scientific discovery, encourage responsible exploration, and firmly link the ideological foundation with creative theoretical development from Vietnamese practice.
The General Secretary and President emphasized the need to unify the goals and structures of the two reports; to clarify the historical values and lessons about the Party's leadership. The summary must highlight the stature of the achievements that have changed the nation's destiny; to deepen the lessons based on the people.
The focus is on explaining the unity between steadfast national independence associated with socialism and creativity in guidelines, tactics, and methods. Along with affirming achievements, it is necessary to frankly analyze limitations, mistakes, missed opportunities, and the process of correction.
General Secretary and President emphasized that our responsibility is to make intelligence accumulated in history continue to become a capacity to lead the development of the country. The summary work must foster the Party's bravery, promote the creativity of the people, and prepare solid conditions for the future.
