Speaking at the Ceremony to announce the resolutions and decisions of the Central and local governments on the merger of administrative units on the morning of June 30, Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly - affirmed: The whole country is ready for the organization of 2-level local government from July 1, 2025.
A historic moment of the country
At the ceremony, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee announced decisions on personnel for the Provincial Party Committee's leadership for the 2020-2025 term after perfecting the organizational apparatus according to the merger policy.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh emphasized that up to now, preparations for the organization of local governments at two levels, merging and consolidating provincial and commune-level administrative units according to Resolution 60 of the Party Central Committee have been seriously implemented, completing on schedule and in accordance with the requirements set by the Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat.
"July 1, 2025 will go down in the history of the country under the leadership of the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam, marking a major turning point in the process of reforming the government apparatus, opening a new development stage for the country" - Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh affirmed.
According to him, in recent times, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Party committees at all levels, authorities and agencies in Khanh Hoa - Ninh Thuan have shown a spirit of solidarity, determination, creativity, and carried out the task of "running and lining up" to organize the arrangement of the administrative apparatus with a serious and effective attitude, ensuring requirements and progress.
This is a great opportunity for the new Khanh Hoa province to develop and take off strongly in the coming time Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh shared.
The merger has a long-term strategic scope
The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that the merger of Khanh Hoa - Ninh Thuan provinces is not simply a change in administrative boundaries, but a strategic, long-term step, to restructure and expand development space for the two localities to have similarities in cultural identity, gentle people and aspiration to rise up.
From July 1, 2025, the 2-level local government model will officially be operated nationwide. Although the preparation process has been thoroughly implemented, Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh noted that the workload in the coming time is very large, requiring Party committees and authorities to act urgently and resolutely.
Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh requested Party committees, authorities, and the political system at all levels to urgently develop and promulgate working regulations; full-term and annual work programs, especially focusing on the activities of the Party Committee's Inspection Committee.
In addition, it is necessary to urgently carry out personnel work according to authority, organize meetings of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and meetings of the People's Council to perfect the organization, assign members, and arrange personnel at all levels in a strict, public, and transparent manner.
"We must build a unified and synchronous political system; ensure immediate resolution of work according to functions and tasks, without interruption or overlap" - Mr. Dinh emphasized.
In particular, Mr. Nguyen Khac Dinh suggested that localities arrange working headquarters, use public assets strictly to avoid loss and waste. At the same time, arrange means, workplaces, and housing for transferred staff, ensuring the necessary conditions for the staff to work with peace of mind.
