On December 6, according to the Ministry of Public Security's Electronic Information Portal, in the past, to report information related to public order and security (SOT) and denounce crimes, people had to go directly to the police, report by phone or make a report. Now, this is simpler and more convenient. By simply performing the operation via the VNeID application, people can create a petition file and report on the SOT situation anywhere, anytime. People can report crimes to the police quickly, confidentially and safely for the person providing the information.
With the above outstanding utilities, local police are focusing on promoting propaganda work, guiding people to reflect on the security and order situation and denounce crimes through the VNeID application, determined to turn this application into a fast and effective channel for reporting crimes.
For example, in Tra Vinh province, through the VNeID application, Mr. Chau Tuan Huy (in Xa Lon hamlet, Dai An commune, Tra Cu district) sent a report about the theft of a motorbike to the police of Dai An commune, Tra Cu district.
The incident was quickly received, verified, and promptly resolved by the commune police, helping Mr. Huy's family recover their property and catch the thief.
Mr. Chau Tuan Huy excitedly said: "Thanks to the Commune Police for helping me learn about the VNeID application. After I logged in and sent the stolen information, the Commune Police quickly helped me get my car back and arrested the thief."
According to Major Thai Minh Chau - Deputy Head of Dai An Commune Police (Tra Cu District, Tra Vinh Province), recently the commune police have coordinated with local departments and agencies to encourage people to register and activate electronic identification.
Since the beginning of 2024, the VNeID application has been added to the utility of receiving security and order reports. Through the VNeID application, people can conveniently report to the police at home without having to go directly to the commune police station to report; ensuring information for the reporter.
"In the VNeID application, there is a security section for the reporter. When reporting, the reporter can choose to remain anonymous. Therefore, when the agency receiving the information does not know who the person is, at the same time, the police officers always ensure 24/7 duty. When receiving the information, they will assign forces to directly handle it as soon as possible, ensuring timeliness and speed" - Major Thai Minh Chau said.
