According to the Ministry of Public Security's Electronic Information Portal, with a core role in the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity (TNLPTC), in 2024, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security have made efforts with the spirit of "4 more" - higher determination, stronger, more drastic, more effective actions and 3 "no" - no pushing, no avoiding, no blaming objective factors.
First of all, it is to prevent and combat TNLPTC internally with the spirit of "non-stop, non-rest", "no forbidden zones, no exceptions, no matter who that person is".
The investigation agencies in the People's Public Security have proactively identified many hot and complicated issues that are prone to corruption and negativity, and resolutely applied many measures to combat, investigate, and collect evidence... Thereby, they have promptly detected and handled many major cases that have attracted public attention, typically cases that occurred at Thuan An, Phuc Son, and Xuyen Viet Oil corporations...
Regarding waste prevention, the police force has initially identified the situation and risks of loss and waste of State and people's resources in a number of areas. The Ministry has directed to focus on handling a number of cases causing loss and waste in construction investment due to prolongation, capital increase, ineffective investment; waste in land and mineral resource management.
From January 15, 2024 to October 14, 2024, the Investigation Agencies in the People's Public Security have investigated 6,777 cases, 11,815 defendants for economic crimes, corruption, and negativity; of which, 3,496 new cases, 7,354 defendants were prosecuted; 3,882 cases, 8,265 defendants have been completed and prosecuted; 2,410 cases, 3,261 defendants are currently being investigated.
To create a breakthrough in preventing and combating TNLPTC, in 2025 and the following years, the Central Party Committee of the Public Security and the Ministry of Public Security will focus on providing better advice and perfecting legal institutions to strengthen prevention and combat of TNLPTC; continue to raise awareness, identifying TNLPTC prevention and combat as one of the top key tasks.
Notably, the Ministry of Public Security will continue to promote administrative reform, streamlining the apparatus, digital transformation, publicity and transparency in the operations of agencies and units, in which digital transformation plays an important role in contributing to the prevention and combat of TNLPTC.
Speed up the progress and promptly conclude the investigation of major cases according to the Steering Committee's plan, cases related to officials and party members... to serve the political tasks of the Party and State and contribute to ensuring the stability and socio-economic development of the country.
Focus on effectively implementing the national strategy on preventing and combating corruption and negative acts until 2030 in the People's Public Security Forces; focus on comprehensively reviewing and evaluating public investment sectors and key economic sectors to comprehensively identify waste, develop specialized plans to prevent and combat crimes and violations related to waste;
Deploy and advise on effective implementation of key solutions, especially those pointed out by General Secretary To Lam in the article "Anti-waste" on October 13, 2024.
