On May 20, according to information from a functional unit of the Ministry of Ethnic Minority and Religion, after receiving the dispatch of the Vietnam Buddhist Church Council, the Ministry of Ethnic and Religion advised the Government and the Prime Minister of Vietnam to send a letter to the Indian Prime Minister proposing to extend the time to religious relics of the Buddha in Vietnam from May 22 to May - 2.6.2025.
Next, the Indian Embassy has just officially announced that the Indian Government has agreed to extend the time to worship the Buddha in Vietnam after May 21.
The Indian Embassy also proposed providing a schedule of exhibition locations after May 21 to arrange necessary work such as renewing visas for Indian officials and tour guards, associated rituals and security work.

In previous days, with the consent of the Government of Vietnam and the Government of India, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha held a procession to pay tribute to the rewards of Buddha Shishi Ca Mau Ni - the National Treasure of India in Vietnam from May 2-21, 2025.
This is the 4th time that the festival of Buddha Shakyamuni has been led outside of India.
The Buddha's favor has been honored at 4 places for people across the country to freely come and worship and observe the festival, including: Thanh Tam Pagoda (Ho Chi Minh City), Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh), Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi) and Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam).
Notably, in any location, the number of people and Buddhists to worship is also very large. Especially, at Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam), this is the last place of the Ton religious schedule of Buddha (from 17-20.5), every day thousands of people flock to visit and worship.
