The title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces (LLVTND) decided by the Party and State to be awarded this time is a noble award, recognizing the particularly outstanding achievements and contributions of generations of officers and soldiers of Quang Nam Provincial Police (old) and Da Nang City through various periods.
Throughout 81 years of construction, combat and growth, the Da Nang Police force has gone through many separations and mergers but always maintained political bravery, solidarity, ingenuity, courage, making important contributions to the cause of national liberation, protecting the revolutionary government and maintaining the peaceful life of the people.
Entering the period of renovation and integration, Da Nang City Police continues to play a core role in protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety; proactively fighting against all kinds of crimes, contributing to creating a stable environment for the city to develop.
Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc emphasized that the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces is not only the pride of the City Police force but also the honor of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Da Nang.
In the context that Da Nang holds a strategic position in terms of national defense, security, economy (with a common 115km border with the Lao People's Democratic Republic) and is an important connecting nucleus of the Central - Central Highlands region, the task of ensuring security and order poses increasingly high requirements.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Standing Committee to request Da Nang City Police to proactively grasp the situation early and from afar, not to be passive or surprised; improve forecasting capacity, strategic advice and link security protection tasks with development creation.
Notably, the City Police force is required to focus on strongly suppressing organized crime, high-tech crime, drugs, corruption and transnational crime; and at the same time promote the application of artificial intelligence, big data, and digital transformation in management and serving people.
Security must go one step ahead, accompany development, pave the way for development and protect development achievements," the Standing Deputy Prime Minister stated clearly.
Leaders of Da Nang City Police affirmed that the noble title is a special milestone in the process of building, fighting and maturing the City Police force.
Da Nang City Police determined to continue to promote heroic traditions, build a clean, regular, elite, modern force, implement the motto "Closest to the people - Most disciplined - Most loyal"; and at the same time improve the effectiveness of crime prevention and combat, promote digital transformation, administrative reform, and ensure security and safety to serve the city's development.
The title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" in the period 2015-2025 is a recognition of outstanding achievements and feats of arms of the City Police force. In 10 years, the unit has been awarded many medals and certificates of merit, continuously receiving the Excellent Emulation Flag; 8,224 collectives and 20,195 individuals have been commended by levels and sectors.
