On the afternoon of November 27, in Ha Tien City, Kien Giang Provincial Police had a working session with the Police of 3 provinces bordering Cambodia including Kep, Kampot, Preah Sihanouk to discuss and agree on the contents of the 2024 Year-end Conference.
This conference will focus on evaluating and summarizing the implementation of the Minutes of Cooperation in Security Protection and Border Order Maintenance between Vietnam and Cambodia over the past year.
The meeting aimed to discuss and agree on the contents and plans for the coordination of the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Vietnamese and Cambodian police forces on border security and order protection. The meeting also discussed and evaluated the results of security and order protection work in the border area in 2024, and at the same time proposed specific directions and plans for the coordination between the Kien Giang provincial police force and the three Cambodian provinces in the coming time.
Issues such as preventing and combating cross-border crimes, smuggling, drugs, protecting border areas and facilitating trade between the two countries were thoroughly discussed.
Regarding preparations for the conference to review the work between the two countries' police forces at the end of 2024, the parties agreed on the organization plan and reports summarizing the results of cooperation over the past year. At the same time, measures were proposed to improve the effectiveness of border security protection and deal with new security challenges.
Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Dao Hai Dang - Deputy Director of Kien Giang Provincial Police - expressed his gratitude for the close coordination of the Cambodian provincial police forces in protecting security in the border area. At the same time, he affirmed his determination to continue to maintain and promote the friendly relationship and effective cooperation in the future.
The meeting reached important agreements, creating a solid foundation for long-term cooperation between the Vietnamese and Cambodian police forces, contributing to ensuring security and order in border areas, while promoting economic, cultural and social development of both countries.
