Speaking at the closing of the 2026 National Press Forum, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association - affirmed that through two days of serious and responsible work with 11 discussion sessions including the opening and closing sessions and especially 9 in-depth discussion sessions - the National Press Forum has truly become a meaningful professional meeting point, attracting deep attention from journalists as well as the public. The enthusiastic discussion sessions, the enthusiastic participation of speakers, and the attention of a large number of guests have contributed to the success of the 3rd National Press Forum - 2026.
9 discussion sessions, including 4 specialized discussion sessions implemented by key press agencies, organized methodically and scientifically, are frank and drastic perspectives on the issues that the Vietnamese press is facing and forced to make efforts to find solutions.

With the perspective "the most dangerous thing is not fake news, but the erosion of trust", the discussion session "Promoting the role of the press in protecting the Party's ideological foundation" affirmed that protecting the Party's ideological foundation is a very arduous battle because the press is currently facing three major challenges.
The first is that the media environment is changing rapidly under the impact of social networks, KOLs and especially artificial intelligence, making the speed of information spread increasingly faster and the real-fake boundaries becoming more difficult to recognize.
The second is that false and distorted information is becoming more sophisticated when effectively utilizing new technology platforms to increase spread.
The third is the requirement to build and maintain public trust in the context of multi-dimensional information.
Therefore, the press needs to simultaneously perform two tasks. On the one hand, it must fight and directly refute wrong and hostile views; on the other hand, it must proactively build trust through spreading truth, human values and positive information of social life.
Besides the self-efforts of the editorial offices, the discussion session also emphasized the importance of management agencies strengthening sharing, understanding and companionship, creating a solid support for the frontline forces on the ideological front.
In particular, within the framework of the Forum, the Vietnam Journalists Association announced 10 rules for using AI in journalism. This framework is a timely solution to the current thorny problems, from controlling information quality, preventing fake news, to protecting content copyright against the wave of illegal data exploitation to train artificial intelligence models.
AI is only a supporting technical tool, not replacing journalists; does not see AI as a source of information; does not publish the original content AI creates; absolutely does not create or disseminate fake information; does not use AI to create Deepfake or fake; protect information sources and personal data; respect copyright; transparency when using AI; sensitive content must be verified in multiple layers; comply with laws and orientations.
