In the afternoon of March 14, in Ho Chi Minh City, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man - Head of Inspection and Supervision Delegation No. 11 of the Politburo, Secretariat in 2026 chaired a conference to announce the decision to inspect, supervise and work with the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
Speaking at the conference, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man acknowledged and highly appreciated the important contributions of Ho Chi Minh City to the overall development of the country. At the same time, he praised the spirit of solidarity, efforts and determination of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City in the past time.
The National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized that to achieve the average GDP growth target for the period 2026 - 2030 of 10% or more, the contribution role of Ho Chi Minh City is extremely important. After arranging administrative units, Ho Chi Minh City continues to maintain a special position, being the locomotive and growth pole of the whole country.
According to the National Assembly Chairwoman, in the past time, the Politburo and the National Assembly have issued many resolutions and separate mechanisms to create conditions for Ho Chi Minh City to develop more strongly.
Therefore, the city needs to continue to research and propose specific and superior mechanisms to maximize potential and advantages, and promote sustainable growth.
The National Assembly Chairwoman also affirmed that this inspection and supervision aims to comprehensively assess the leadership and direction of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in organizing the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress.
According to the request of the Politburo, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee needs to fully report on the situation of organizing research, studying, thoroughly grasping and propagating the resolution; and at the same time clarify the development and implementation of the action program to implement the resolution as well as the results achieved, limitations, difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process.
In addition, the inspection team also considered the leadership and direction of the implementation of Directive No. 46 of the Politburo on leading the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
This is an important political task, of great significance in consolidating and perfecting the state apparatus, ensuring the people's right to mastery and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system's operation.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and relevant agencies to closely coordinate with Inspection and Supervision Delegation No. 11; prepare sufficient report content as required, creating favorable conditions for the delegation to complete its tasks.
At the same time, members of the inspection team need to perform their tasks seriously, objectively, and impartially; work scientifically, in accordance with regulations, ensuring quality and efficiency, and at the same time not affecting the professional activities of agencies, units, and localities.
Accepting the direction, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang emphasized that this inspection and supervision is of particular importance to Ho Chi Minh City.
Through this working session, Ho Chi Minh City hopes that the inspection team will record and summarize the difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing tasks in the locality, thereby reporting to the Central Government and the Politburo for consideration and direction to remove them.
