On February 24, in Moscow, Special Envoy of General Secretary To Lam, Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung had meetings with Chairman of the United Russia Party D. Medvedev and Communist Party of the Russian Federation G. Zyuganov to announce the results of the XIV National Party Congress.
At the two meetings, Comrade Le Hoai Trung conveyed the thanks of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, General Secretary To Lam for the congratulations and letters and telegrams from the Russian leaders to the XIV Party Congress and the re-election of Comrade To Lam as General Secretary, and the election of the Party Leadership Board.
Comrade Le Hoai Trung informed about the main contents of the 14th Party Congress, affirming that Vietnam consistently values the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the Russian Federation, relations with the United Russia Party and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation; and made some proposals on promoting cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the two Parties in the coming time.
The two comrades Chairman of the United Russia Party D. Medvedev and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation G. Zyuganov thanked the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam for sending a Special Envoy to announce the results and once again congratulated the success of the XIV Party Congress and the fact that the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam re-elected Comrade To Lam as General Secretary and elected a new Party Leadership Board. The two comrades highly appreciated the achievements that Vietnam has achieved in the Doi Moi process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Comrade D. Medvedev emphasized that Vietnam cannot overcome difficulties without the wise leadership and direction of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Comrade G. Zyuganov affirmed that Vietnam is a role model for developing countries in the current context, and the theory of Doi Moi will make an important contribution to the international communist and workers' movement.
The two Presidents expressed their belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam will continue to achieve its development goals in the new era.
Comrade D. Medvedev affirmed that Vietnam is an important and reliable partner of Russia in the Asia-Pacific region; proposed major cooperation directions to be promoted, affirmed readiness to cooperate with Vietnam in many fields, including nuclear power, defense - security, science - technology, culture, education...; emphasized the importance of inter-party cooperation, implementing agreements signed between the two Parties and moving towards signing the Cooperation Plan between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the United Russia Party for the period 2026-2028, including cadre training, promoting cooperation between the two political academies of the two Parties; holding a cooperation mechanism meeting between the two Parties at the end of 2026-2027, promoting cooperation between the youth movement of the two Parties, effectively organizing the Cross-Year of Scientific and Educational Cooperation in 2026.
Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation G. Zyuganov agreed to jointly promote relations on the Party channel, especially theoretical exchange, supporting cooperation on the parliamentary channel, between localities in places where the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has representatives participating in the government and in social organizations of the two Parties.
On this occasion, Comrade Le Hoai Trung conveyed the invitation to visit Vietnam from General Secretary To Lam and the Central Executive Committee to Comrades D. Medvedev and G. Zyuganov at an appropriate time. Comrades conveyed their thanks and happily accepted the invitation.
