On January 26, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received a delegation of the New Azerbaijani Party led by Mr. Tahir Budagov - Vice Chairman cum Chief of the Party Central Committee Office to congratulate the General Secretary and the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on successfully organizing the 14th Congress.
Mr. Tahir Budagov conveyed the words of the President of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the New Azerbaijani Party Ilham Aliyev and on behalf of the leaders of the New Azerbaijani Party congratulating the Communist Party of Vietnam on successfully organizing the 14th National Congress, congratulating Comrade To Lam on being trusted by the Congress to be re-elected as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, affirming that this is the absolute trust of the Vietnamese people in the leadership and policies of the Party and the great contribution of General Secretary To Lam.
Mr. Tahir Budagov expressed admiration for the rapid development of Vietnam in recent times, especially the world's leading high growth rate, and the people's lives are constantly improving. He affirmed that under the wise leadership of the Party, Vietnam will successfully implement the guidelines and policies approved by the Congress, achieve the impressive goals set out, enhance the country's stature, and make Vietnam a leading developed country in the region and an important country in the world.
The Vice Chairman of the New Azerbaijani Party affirmed that the state visit of General Secretary To Lam to Azerbaijan in May 2025 is of utmost importance, opening a new stage for the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries to develop strongly, and emphasized that the New Azerbaijani Party always supports strengthening Vietnam-Azerbaijan relations in all fields and different channels.
The Vice President of the New Azerbaijani Party affirmed that Azerbaijani functional agencies will work with Vietnamese agencies to implement the agreements reached between the highest leaders of the two countries in May 2025.
General Secretary To Lam thanked the leaders of the New Azerbaijani Party, the leaders of the State of Azerbaijan for giving warm feelings and good wishes to the Vietnamese people, the Communist Party of Vietnam and the General Secretary personally, and at the same time informed Mr. Tahir Budagov and the delegation of the main results of the 14th Congress, emphasizing that the Congress not only sets out goals, orientations and tasks, and solutions for the next 5 years but also decides strategic issues for the future and destiny of the Vietnamese nation in the new era of development.
The General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam will continue to implement an independent, self-reliant, and self-strengthening foreign policy, considering foreign affairs as an important and regular task along with national defense and security; in the process of implementing this task, Vietnam always values and wishes to develop relations with traditional friendly countries and strategic partners, including Azerbaijan.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam requested Mr. Tahir Budagov to convey his greetings and thanks and invited the President of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the New Azerbaijani Party Ilham Aliyev to visit Vietnam soon.
