Attending and directing the Congress were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee Nguyen Trong Nghia.
The theme of the Congress is to build a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; promote cultural identity, the strength of great national unity; maintain national defense and security; promote science and technology; mobilize resources to build Gia Lai into a fairly developed province of the whole country. The Congress motto is "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development".
Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Gia Lai Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung emphasized that this is a special Congress - the first Congress after the merger of the two old Binh Dinh and Gia Lai Party Committees, opening a new development stage with higher vision, aspiration and responsibility.
According to Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, the recent term took place in the context of many difficulties and challenges. However, thanks to the timely leadership, direction and support of the Central Government along with the solidarity and efforts of the two previous Party Committees and People of the two provinces, the province has achieved many important results in the fields of: economy - society, national defense - security, foreign affairs, Party building and the political system. However, there are still limitations.
At this Congress, the key task is to properly assess the implementation of the Resolution for the period 2020-2025; clearly identify advantages, disadvantages, causes and lessons learned; identify breakthrough directions, goals and solutions to make the province develop faster, more comprehensively and sustainably in the coming period.
The Congress will also review the leadership role of the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee in the past term, drawing lessons to help the new Executive Committee successfully complete its tasks.
"The entire Party Committee, army and people of all ethnic groups in the province are excitedly watching, expecting and looking forward to the Congress. In the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", I suggest that each delegate maximize the responsibility of Party members, uphold the spirit of solidarity, democracy, and intelligence, focus on discussing, contributing many opinions, and correctly deciding on important issues at the Congress", Mr. Ho Quoc Dung suggested.
