Protecting the ideological foundation is to protect the survival of the Party and the future of the country
On the morning of December 19, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee held a national conference to summarize the work of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization in 2025 and deploy tasks for 2026.
Speaking at the Conference, General Secretary To Lam stated that, looking back at the 13th National Party Congress term, especially from the beginning of 2025 to present, the work of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization has clearly demonstrated the role of "paving the way, accompanying implementation, following the summary" and "building trust", being a bridge between the Party and the People, promoting democracy and the strength of national solidarity, contributing to the cause of Party building and rectification and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
According to the General Secretary, strategic policies and decisions will not be able to achieve positive and comprehensive results without the pioneering role and responsibility of creating, "orienting thoughts", "unifying awareness", "taking the lead" of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization sector.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, General Secretary To Lam requested the entire sector to focus on doing a good job of strategic consultation for the Party to maintain its political orientation and adhere to the goal of national independence associated with socialism.
In particular, it is necessary to firmly protect the Party's ideological foundation - this is the "pillar" of the regime, the "steel shield" firmly protecting the regime and the people, the "source" of the nation, the voiceless but fierce front.
"Protecting the ideological foundation is to protect the survival of the Party and the future of the country. Confirming the Party's ideological foundation, applying and developing creativity in the flow of the times so that the ideology will forever be the flag leading our country on the path of socialism. Comrades need to consider this a vital, regular and long-term task" - the General Secretary emphasized.
Historical milestones opening the era of national growth
The General Secretary requested to closely follow reality, "catching the source line correctly, penetrating each beat" of people's lives and public opinion. This work must be done regularly, continuously, responsibly, without being passive or surprised.
Advising the Party and State on policies and guidelines that are in keeping with the people's wishes, promptly resolving pressing issues right from the time they arise, not allowing the formation of "low-lying areas" of public opinion.
The General Secretary also requested that information and propaganda work in the press and digital platforms must be comprehensively innovated, must continue and continuously maintain the position of "actively attacking and leading".
Revolutionary press must clearly affirm revolutionary spirit, must demonstrate its pioneering role on the ideological and cultural front, be "the ideological pillar, the shock force that creates trust, the core that guides public opinion, and creates high consensus in society".
One requirement that the General Secretary pointed out is to continue to consolidate and promote the strength of "Great Unity" - this is especially important in the current context.
To successfully achieve the goals set by the Party and the State, mass mobilization work must be strongly oriented towards the grassroots, truly "heavy-minded, close to the people, understanding the people, learning the people and being responsible to the people".
The General Secretary mentioned the requirement to focus highly on advising the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat to continue to do a good job of preparing and successfully organizing the 14th National Congress of the Party.
According to the General Secretary, the 14th Congress is the time to gather the "intellectuals, enthusiasm, and will" of the entire Party and the entire nation, paving the way for a new development journey. The success of the Congress is the success of the spirit of innovation, the success of autonomy, the success of great national unity, the success of organization work, propaganda work... The decisions passed at the Congress are the crystallization of Vietnamese intelligence to create the future.
"Comrades need to identify this as an important political event, a historical milestone opening the era of national growth, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization sector must be the core force in strongly propagating the meaning and importance of the Congress; about the great achievements of the country over 40 years of renovation and 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress" - the General Secretary stated.
