On June 27, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee organized a Conference to announce the Dak Lak Provincial Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 and Investment Promotion in 2026.
Speaking at the conference, General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense - said that organizing the announcement of provincial planning and investment promotion is of particular importance.
It not only marks a new stage of development for Dak Lak but also demonstrates innovative thinking, strategic vision and political determination of the locality in effectively exploiting potentials and advantages.
According to General Phan Van Giang, this conference demonstrates the spirit of thoroughly grasping the resolutions and conclusions of the Central Government on socio-economic development in the period 2026 - 2030, with the goal of striving to achieve double-digit economic growth.
This is an important basis for Dak Lak to correctly identify the focus and key points, select projects with high motivation and spillover effect; focus investment resources, and limit the situation of spreading investment.
After the merger, Dak Lak has a scale of more than 18,000km2, a population of nearly 3.4 million people, and a large development space from the Central Highlands to the South Central Coast.
This is a special advantage in terms of geopolitical and geo-economic position, creating conditions for the locality to promote its potential in fields such as agriculture, processing industry, renewable energy, logistics, tourism, marine economy and digital economy.
However, Dak Lak still faces many challenges such as unsynchronized infrastructure, the quality of human resources needs to be further improved, and the competitiveness of the economy is not commensurate with its potential.
General Phan Van Giang emphasized that the important task now is to transform existing advantages into substantive growth drivers; turn major orientations in planning into specific works and projects, bringing efficiency to people and businesses.
General Phan Van Giang requested Dak Lak province to effectively implement provincial planning; review and select truly key public investment projects with regional linkages and high spillover effects, associated with the goal of double-digit economic growth in the period 2026 - 2030.
Along with that, localities need to focus on removing development bottlenecks, prioritize synchronous investment in strategic infrastructure, improve the quality of human resources, and strongly improve the investment and business environment.
In addition, Dak Lak needs to promote its specific potentials and advantages to form new growth drivers; prioritize the development of high-tech agriculture, processing industry, forest economy, marine economy, logistics, tourism, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
Local orientation is to gradually build Dak Lak into a green energy center and an important industrial center of the region.
