Attending and directing the conference, Ms. Ha Thi Nga - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman - Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front emphasized the pioneering role of major cities in realizing socio-economic development goals and innovating Front work. The overall operation of the City Front has depth, spreading power and affirming the central coordinating role. In particular, in the context of implementing unprecedented new organizational models, the City Front directly under the Central Government has shown proactive spirit and outstanding efforts to complete tasks with good quality.
The Vice Chairman - Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also said that one of the outstanding bright spots is the implementation of Conclusion 230 on arranging mass organizations assigned by the Party and State. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are considered pioneering units in early issuance of arrangement projects and building operating regulations for associations.
Defining tasks for the coming time, Vice Chairman - Secretary General Ha Thi Nga emphasized 3 key contents. In which, the Emulation Cluster needs to promote its role in the growth target. City Fronts need to organize in-depth seminars on the role of the Front in creating social consensus, supervising policy implementation and mobilizing all people's resources to achieve double-digit growth. This is an area that concentrates the elite class, intellectuals, and overseas Vietnamese, playing a key role in the development of the whole country.

Ms. Ha Thi Nga proposed that emulation clusters promote the digital economy and green economy by actively mobilizing people to participate in digital transformation, contributing to realizing the goal of the digital economy accounting for 30% of GDP. The Fatherland Front at commune and ward levels needs to proactively connect businesses, support agricultural product consumption and closely grasp the local economic situation.
Innovating methods of gathering and uniting, cities must be the leading place in experimenting with creative models to grasp people, especially new social groups such as digital content creation clubs, technology drivers...
In the first 6 months of 2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of centrally-run cities comprehensively implemented work tasks, achieving many positive results in all fields, affirming their core role in building the great national unity bloc, promoting democracy, caring for people's lives and participating in building the Party and government.
Propaganda, mobilization, and gathering of people from all walks of life continue to be strongly innovated in both content and implementation methods. Localities have actively applied digital technology, effectively exploited social networks, and multimedia communication platforms to spread the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State to the masses.
Another prominent highlight is the active and responsible participation of the Fatherland Front at all levels in the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies of all levels for the 2026-2031 term. From consultation, introduction of candidates, organization of voter contacts to supervision of the election process are all implemented closely, democratically, and in accordance with legal regulations. Many localities achieved very high voter turnout rates such as Hue reaching 99.99%, Da Nang reaching 99.92%, Can Tho reaching 99.88%, Hai Phong reaching 99.85% and Hanoi reaching 99.57%. These results show the important role of the Fatherland Front in promoting democracy, creating social consensus and contributing to the overall success of the election nationwide.
Along with that, supervision and social criticism activities continue to be widely deployed, becoming more and more substantive. Hanoi chairs 417 supervision sessions and organizes 302 social criticism activities; Ho Chi Minh City deploys 8 key supervision topics and more than 100 activities to contribute opinions on draft documents; Hai Phong and Can Tho conduct hundreds of thematic supervision sessions, focusing on issues of public concern....
