On the morning of June 27, in Dak Lak province, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Program to invest in building 100 community activity houses combined with flood prevention in villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods in the province (phase 1) took place.
Attending were General Phan Van Giang, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee;
Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of Military Region 5; Lieutenant General Dao Tuan Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of Army Corps 34, along with leaders of central ministries, branches and Dak Lak province.

According to the plan, phase 1 of the program is being implemented in 27 communes and wards in the province, with a scale of building 100 community activity houses combined with flood prevention, with a total investment of 170.964 billion VND.
This is an important program, aimed at concretizing the guidelines and policies on upgrading and completing the infrastructure system; serving the living and meeting needs of people, especially in areas that are still facing many difficulties and are frequently affected by natural disasters and storms.
The project is divided into 4 groups of works. Specifically, the first group belongs to the management area of the Tuy Hoa Construction Investment Project Management Board (phase 1), building 53 community activity houses combined with flood shelters in 11 communes and wards, with a total investment of 89.674 billion VND.
The second group belongs to the Tuy An Construction Investment Project Management Board (phase 1), building 32 houses in 12 communes and wards, with a total investment of 55.130 billion VND.
The third group belongs to the Ea Kar Construction Investment Project Management Board (phase 1), building 9 houses in 3 communes, with a total investment of 15.650 billion VND.
The fourth group belongs to the Buon Ma Thuot Construction Investment Project Management Board (phase 1), building 6 houses in 1 commune, with a total investment of 10.510 billion VND.
The works are designed to suit the actual conditions, customs, and culture of each locality, with 3 different design templates. The house is built according to grade III house standards, 2-story scale, fully functional, both meeting the regular community living needs and ensuring safety when used as a shelter for the rainy and flood season.
Each project has the capacity to serve evacuation and shelter for more than 200 people when natural disasters occur.

Mr. Dao My - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said that in addition to the function of organizing community cultural meetings and activities, community activity houses are also designed to combine flood prevention.
This is also a place that can be used to evacuate people, serve command, rescue, and at the same time serve as a gathering point for supplies, food, and necessities in emergency situations.
According to the plan, 100 projects will be completed before September 15 and put into use before the 2026 rainy and storm season.
On the occasion of the groundbreaking ceremony, showing the Central Government's concern for people in areas frequently affected by floods, leaders of the Central Government and provincial leaders presented 20 gifts to poor households.
The activity aims to encourage and share difficulties, helping people have more motivation to rise up and stabilize their lives.
