Promoting the advantages of sea and forest
On September 30, the first Dak Lak Provincial Party Congress officially opened.
This is the first congress after the merger of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces, considered a special political event, opening up new development space with greater scale, stature and position.
After the merger, Dak Lak has many potentials, with an important strategic position when it owns both forests, fertile land, deep-water seaports, long coasts, lanh dao and large economic privileges.

With the above position, the Congress has set out 18 groups of targets. Notable among them is the GRDP growth target for the period 2026-2030 from 10.5%/year or more; GRDP per capita will reach 153 million VND by 2030;
Digital economy accounts for 30% of GRDP; the rate of poor households decreases by an average of 2%/year; the forest coverage rate reaches 42% or more; by 2030, 68/88 communes will meet new rural standards.
The Congress also identified 8 key tasks and 3 breakthroughs, focusing on developing human resources, especially the team of leaders and managers at all levels; promoting science and technology, innovation, digital transformation on all 3 pillars; at the same time, mobilizing maximum resources for strategic infrastructure investment, especially transportation, industry, urban areas and digital infrastructure.
Need to review development space
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen - Politburo member, Standing member of the 14th National Party Congress Document Subcommittee said that the Politburo expects Dak Lak to be a model of a successful merger model with a long-term vision of breakthrough development in governance, infrastructure, science and technology and human resources.
On the other hand, Dak Lak needs to maximize the potential and advantages of the two localities to rise to become a new growth pole of the Central Highlands and the South Central Coast.
To exploit the potential, the Politburo noted that Dak Lak needs to review the entire development space, urgently complete the integrated planning in the direction of multi-center, multipolar; prioritize the development of connecting transport infrastructure, urban and ecological rural infrastructure; expand regional linkages.
The locality also needs to restructure the economy towards high technology, digital transformation, green and circular development. The focus is on high-tech agriculture associated with processing industry, renewable energy, seaport services, logistics, eco-tourism and culture.
The Politburo requested Dak Lak to concretize strategic resolutions. In particular, special attention is paid to science and technology and digital transformation as a key driving force.
The province needs to prioritize the development of technology in processing industry, tourism, logistics, ecological agriculture; build a center for innovation, promote startups, and connect the system of institutions - schools - businesses.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nen said that after the merger, Dak Lak has a large development space, but this opportunity is only successful for a team of cadres with heart, strength and daring to act.
He emphasized that people are the goal and driving force of innovation. Leaders need to be fair, brave, proactive and dare to take responsibility.
