Improving the lives of union members and workers
Ms. Bui Thi Cap - a worker at Ngoc Trai Vietnam Co., Ltd. - after 24 years of marriage, she and her husband have a happy private room thanks to the financial support to build the Trade Union Shelter.
From the Khanh Hoa Trade Union Social Fund, supported with 60 million VND, along with accumulated capital, the couple was able to build a spacious house. The new house really changed her family's life.
Over the past 5 years, Khanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union has supported 235 union members to repair and rebuild houses, with a total cost of more than 10.5 billion VND, helping workers and laborers stabilize their place of residence and feel secure in their aspirations.
Mr. Phan Thanh Liem - Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor - said that over the past 5 years, trade unions at all levels have innovated their methods of operation, proactively coordinated with the government and employers, creating a mark in building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
Activities to care for union members' lives have been implemented synchronously, directly to each facility and each worker. In the past 5 years, the "Tet Sum Vay" program alone has ear earned nearly 235 billion VND to take care of. The union has signed 52 cooperation agreements on "Welfare for union members and workers" with partners, bringing benefits to more than 70,000 union members and workers, with a beneficiary amount of more than 9.5 billion VND.
Affirming the role of trade unions
The 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, has just passed a resolution with many important growth targets in the new period.
The province sets a target of increasing average annual labor productivity by 11%. The rate of trained workers reached 90%, of which 40% had degrees and certificates.
Mr. Phan Thanh Liem said that, in the face of the province's socio-economic development requirements, the role of the Trade Union organization becomes even more urgent. In the coming time, Khanh Hoa Provincial Trade Union will continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation; proactively coordinate with employers in improving working conditions and taking care of workers' health.
The Trade Union will also promote initiative and creativity in organizing patriotic emulation movements, building grassroots cultural life; contributing to the completion of the criteria for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. At the same time, strengthen the capacity for negotiation and dialogue to avoid long-term collective work stoppages, ensure stable labor relations and social development according to the two-level government model.
In the context of digital transformation, trade unions will promote the use of digital tools to monitor, supervise, and protect workers' rights. In addition, timely orientation to turn challenges into opportunities, difficulties into advantages.
Activities to care for the lives of union members and workers continue to be focused on, especially supporting union members in difficulty and expanding welfare cooperation. The union will launch emulation movements, spread good models and effective ways of caring for union members, associated with improving productivity and work efficiency (KPI) of the organization.
