On June 17, the People's Committees of Can Tho City, Soc Trang and Hau Giang provinces held an online conference to deploy contents related to the work of reorganizing the apparatus and administrative units according to the new policy.
According to the report of the Department of Home Affairs of Can Tho City, the plan to restructure the organization of administrative agencies under the City People's Committee after the merger and consolidation is expected to include 15 departments and branches.
Including 12 specialized departments and the City Inspectorate, the City People's Committee Office, and the Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones Management Board.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment consists of 3 rooms, 8 branches and the new Rural Coordination Office; the Department of Education and Training has 7 rooms; the Department of Justice has 4 rooms; the Department of Construction has 7 rooms; the Department of Finance has 8 rooms; the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has 6 rooms; the Department of Health has 8 rooms; the Department of Science and Technology has 6 rooms and 1 branch; the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions consists of 4 rooms; the Department of Industry and Trade has 4 rooms and 1 branch; the Department of Home Affairs has 6 rooms and 1 branch equivalent; the Department of Foreign Affairs consists of 3 departments.
The City Inspectorate organizes 10 departments; The City People's Committee Office has 8 departments and a dependent Public Administration Service Center; The Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones has 3 departments and a Representative Office.
Regarding personnel work, the representative of the Department of Home Affairs said that based on actual conditions, standards and staff capacity, it will arrange leaders suitable for agencies and organizations after the arrangement.
In case the leader does not continue to hold the old position, he/she will be arranged in an adjacent subordinate position and enjoy support policies according to regulations.
For the deputy level, the competent authority will consider the current number to arrange appropriately. In the immediate future, the number of deputy cap may be higher than the regulations, but units must develop a roadmap to gradually reduce according to general regulations.
For the team of cadres, civil servants and public employees who do not hold positions, the agencies will base on new functions and tasks to arrange appropriately. In case there is no longer a suitable working position, it will be transferred to another department or the policies will be resolved according to current regulations.
At the conference, opinions basically agreed with the plan of 15 departments and branches, but the number of departments continued to record many additional contributions.
