On March 8, at the Government headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with female heroes of the People's Armed Forces, female heroes of labor, female generals; attended the 40th Anniversary Ceremony of the Kovalevskaia Award and the 2024 Award.
Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister emphasized that women always play an important role in the development process of each family, each community, each country, ethnic group and contribute to humanity in general. The history of the Vietnamese people is associated with the bright impressions of the heroic Vietnamese women.
The rate of female managers in Party and State agencies has been improved in quantity and quality. The proportion of female National Assembly deputies for the 2021-2026 term in Vietnam is high compared to other countries in the Asia-Pacific region (over 30%).
The Prime Minister emphasized that it is necessary to both strongly arouse women's movements, further promote the role and good qualities of women, and create favorable conditions for women to promote those roles and qualities and enjoy the fruits achieved, ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of women.
The Prime Minister requested the Vietnam Women's Union to continue to promote the representative role of women of all classes in advising on support policies and creating conditions for Vietnamese women in general and female scientists in particular to continue to promote their talents, intelligence, and dedication to the progress and development of women.
At the same time, it creates conditions for women to proactively, actively and effectively participate in implementing major policies and guidelines of the Party and State.
The Prime Minister requested that all levels, sectors and localities prioritize resource allocation, have policies and mechanisms for training, fostering and developing high-quality female human resources.

In particular, special attention is paid to the female force working in science, technology, innovation, socio-economic fields, humanities, women working in disadvantaged areas, mountainous areas, and islands in the digital age of the country.
Create all favorable conditions for women to access and apply science and technology, innovation, digital transformation in production and life equally, proactively, positively, especially in scientific research and creative startups in the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Politburo.
Proactively and actively supporting women in deep, substantial and effective international integration, contributing to enhancing the country's position in various fields, especially in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
The Prime Minister suggested that the Kovalevskaia Vietnam Award Committee in the following years should continue to select and honor outstanding female collectives and individuals who are widespread and have outstanding achievements in scientific research activities, especially in the fields of education, health, digital technology, automation, biotechnology, energy and environment, etc.
The head of the Government also suggested that the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Vietnam Women's Union study and propose awards to honor scientists in other scientific fields such as economics - society and humanities, and young female scientists.
