Fighting against distorted arguments of the August Revolution is "luck"

Just 81 years ago, the historic autumn, the August Revolution of 1945 was a resounding success, creating a miracle in the history of the Vietnamese nation.

The elaborate and long-term preparation process

The August Revolution of 1945 was a brilliant milestone in the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese nation, opening a new era for the country: the era of independence, freedom and socialism.

That event not only marked the glorious victory of the patriotic spirit and steadfast fighting will of the Vietnamese nation, but also showed the bravery, intelligence, and great stature of our Party and President Ho Chi Minh.

However, with their ambitions, hostile and reactionary forces fiercely attack and distort the leadership role of our Party in many media outlets, especially on the internet and social networks.

With distorted and outdated arguments, hostile and reactionary forces, political opportunists seek to distort the truth, undermine the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the spirit of national unity, in order to cause confusion and loss of trust in society, especially the young generation.

One of the most common arguments is that the August Revolution was "lucky", due to "power vacuum", a "natural achievement" of the collapse of the colonial and fascist regimes after World War II, not due to the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

This is completely wrong rhetoric, denying the leadership role of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh; denying the proactiveness of the Party and people of Vietnam, deliberately ignoring the long-term and elaborate preparation process of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the General Uprising to seize power in the autumn of 1945.

It must be affirmed that the leading and decisive factor throughout the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 was the correct, wise and talented leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by leader Ho Chi Minh.

Along with that, this is the crystallization of a long, elaborate preparation process with a clear strategic orientation of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

That preparation took place in many aspects - politics, organization, armed forces, bases, mass bases and was carried out persistently and sustainably for 15 years from the time the Party was established (in 1930) to the time of launching the General Uprising (in 1945).

It was this comprehensive and extensive preparation process that created momentum and strength for the revolution, ensuring that the uprising took place simultaneously and was completely victorious.

Regarding the political force, the Party has advocated building and developing a widespread revolutionary movement among the masses.

In terms of armed forces organization, the Party has gradually formed and developed self-defense and guerrilla teams, later the Vietnam Propaganda and Liberation Army and National Salvation Army teams. The establishment of the Vietnam Propaganda and Liberation Army Team (December 22, 1944) was a milestone affirming the outstanding growth of the revolutionary armed forces.

Along with the political and military forces, the revolutionary base system was also particularly focused on being built by the Party. In addition, the preparation of awareness and ideology for the masses was also particularly valued by the Party.

From then on, when the opportunity came, the masses in both rural and urban areas were ready to stand up, actively participate in the uprising, take over the government and build a revolutionary government.

The combined strength of the nation

According to Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Sau - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Institute of Strategy and History of National Defense, research on the General Uprising to seize power in August 1945 in Vietnam shows the prominent method of mobilizing comprehensive forces, including political forces and armed forces, creating overwhelming power.

In which, political forces and political struggle played a decisive role. The August Revolution in 1945 both used revolutionary violent methods and combined flexible tactics to isolate and neutralize the enemy, seizing power quickly and simultaneously.

Preparing for the Party's General Uprising is a comprehensive, systematic and methodical process, linking the building of political, military, base and mass bases forces. That is one of the key factors creating the overwhelming position and force to ensure the victory of the August Revolution in 1945.

The above factors have affirmed that the victory of the August Revolution was not "luck", "power vacuum", "historical mistake" or "cause of war"... as distorted by hostile forces.

Today, the lesson on building revolutionary forces in a fundamental, persistent and strategic way from the August Revolution is still valuable in the cause of firmly protecting national independence and building a powerful Vietnam in the new era.
