By 2030, the Red River Delta region will basically solve pollution, traffic congestion and flooding; people's lives will be improved, leading the country.

On April 5, the Government Office said that the Prime Minister has issued Decisions approving the adjustment of the 6-Regional Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, including: Northern Midlands and Mountains; Red River Delta; North Central region; South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions; Southeast region and Mekong Delta.

In Decision No. 610/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the adjustment of the Northern Midlands and Mountains Region Plan for the period 2021-2030, vision to 2050 as follows:

The scope and boundaries of planning for the Northern Midlands and Mountains region include the entire territory of 9 provinces: Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Lang Son, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang.

The decision sets a goal that by 2030, the Midlands and Northern Mountains region will be a green, sustainable and comprehensive development region, with a synchronous and modern basic infrastructure system, effectively adapted to climate change, ensuring effective intra-regional, inter-regional and international connectivity, affirming the region's position as a center connecting Southeast Asian countries with China, Central Asia and Europe.

In Decision No. 612/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the adjustment of the Red River Delta Regional Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The scope and boundaries for planning adjustments include the entire land territory of 6 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Quang Ninh provinces and the sea and island space.

The decision sets a goal that by 2030, the Red River Delta region will be a rapidly and sustainably developing region with a reasonable economic structure, imbued with national cultural identity; taking science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as breakthroughs and main driving forces for socio-economic development; having synchronous and modern infrastructure, smart cities with high connectivity; forming a green and smart urban network, adapting to climate change, fundamentally solving environmental pollution, traffic congestion and urban flooding.

In Decision No. 613/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the adjustment of the North Central Coast Regional Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The scope and boundaries for adjusting the planning of the North Central region include the entire land territory of 5 provinces and cities: Hue City, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri provinces and the sea and island space determined according to relevant legal regulations.

In Decision No. 614/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the Adjustment of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands Regional Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The scope and boundaries for adjusting the planning of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions include the entire land territory of 6 provinces and cities: Da Nang City, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong provinces and the determined sea and island space.

In Decision No. 615/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the Adjustment of the Southeast Region Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The scope and boundaries for adjusting the planning of the Southeast region include the entire land territory of provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and the sea and island space.

In Decision No. 616/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the Adjustment of the Mekong Delta Regional Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The scope and boundaries for adjusting the planning of the Mekong Delta region include the entire land territory of 5 provinces and cities: Can Tho, An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau and Vinh Long; and the sea and island space identified.
