Speaking at the Press Award Ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that exactly a century ago, on June 21, 1925, in Guangzhou (China), Uncle Ho founded Thanh Nien newspaper, marking the birth of Vietnam's revolutionary press - a new press line, associated with revolutionary ideals, serving the Fatherland and the People.

Since then, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always accompanied the nation through all historical periods, fulfilling its mission of propagating and protecting Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's ideology, the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State, and at the same time being an important bridge between the Party, the State and the People; encouraging patriotism, national solidarity, greatly contributing to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland.
The past century has also recognized the remarkable maturity of the revolutionary press in terms of scale, type, technology and team. From secret handwritten newspapers, Vietnamese press today has transformed strongly, converging all types of modernity such as print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, multimedia press - meeting the requirements of the digital age.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, the great contributions of the press have been recognized by the Party and the State with noble awards: Gold Star Medal, Ho Chi Minh Medal; some press agencies were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Hero of Labor in the renovation period; many journalists and photographers were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize, State Prize...
The soldiers on the ideological front today constantly practice virtue, practice their talents, master modern journalism technology, actively convey the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, introduce the beauty of Vietnamese culture and people and the achievements of the renovation process to international friends.
"The 150 journalists present today at the Press Award Ceremony are typical faces for today's generation of revolutionary journalists - dedicated, creative, and dedicated to the glorious revolutionary cause" - Mr. Le Quoc Minh said.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh also said that modern journalism also faces many new challenges: pressure to compete in information in the digital environment, the spread of false information on social networks, the risk of commercialization, deviation of professional ethics standards...
According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day takes place at a special time: the country is facing a historic opportunity to make a breakthrough. The streamlining of the press organization and arrangement according to Resolution 18-NQ/TW is being strongly implemented. This is the time for the press to comprehensively innovate, build a streamlined, professional team, adapt to digital transformation and international integration, contributing to creating a new look and new stature for the national press in the era of national development.
