On January 12, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh - Head of the National Steering Committee for Data, chaired the first meeting of the Steering Committee.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the important role of data; building a database is an important and meaningful task.
The Prime Minister clearly stated that the meeting was organized with a spirit of both urgency and decisiveness in the face of the urgent requirements of the country.
The Party, State and Government have identified a growth target of 10% or more in the coming time to create momentum, create momentum, create strength, create confidence, and create a foundation to bring the country firmly into a new era of prosperity, civilization, prosperity and happiness.
To realize that great aspiration, it is necessary to quickly unlock and thoroughly and effectively exploit new growth drivers such as the digital economy, green economy, circular economy... especially data, artificial intelligence, data economy, the Politburo and the General Secretary are very interested in this issue.

Over the past time, the Government and the Prime Minister have focused on directing ministries, sectors, and localities to drastically implement Resolution No. 57; have achieved many positive results in data development, along with breakthroughs in digital transformation and the wave of artificial intelligence spreading widely.
Many economic experts believe that this is the golden time for Vietnam to break through in the field of data, if data management is effective combined with the power of artificial intelligence, this field can generate 80 billion USD in revenue by 2030. This affirms that data is truly an important sector of the economy, a new driving force for growth.
To ensure that the meeting achieves good results, the Prime Minister requested delegates to focus on discussing, analyzing and answering the questions: How to effectively and thoroughly solve the data problem of "correct, sufficient, clean, lively, unified, shared" right from the source? How to break down the mindset of "data base" and implement substantive and effective connection and sharing?
How to balance between data opening and protecting personal data, protecting national security? How to form and develop a data market and how to value data scientifically and correctly? What is the data exchange operating model to both develop and control risks?
The Prime Minister also raised the question, what strategy to form, build and develop autonomous artificial intelligence with Vietnamese identity and knowledge? How to mobilize huge Vietnamese language data sources (such as culture, art, history, geography, law...) to develop autonomous artificial intelligence of Vietnamese people, for Vietnamese people? What is the problem to develop computing infrastructure and energy for data centers with super servers?
Along with that, why are there still some key national and specialized databases with slow deployment progress, not yet complete digitalization, dataization and data concentration to the Central Government? What strong solutions are being implemented to end the construction of national and specialized databases in the style of each place having a different technology and standard?
