On May 20, according to PV's source, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province issued Decision No. 619/QD-UBND on the completion of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Project to Improve the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) for the period 2021-2025.
This is a move to improve management efficiency, promote administrative reform and improve the investment and business environment in the province.
The newly strengthened Steering Committee consists of 17 members, headed by Ms. Nguyen Bich Ngoc - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The Standing Deputy Head of the Committee is Mr. Luu Cong Huu - Director of the Department of Finance and the remaining Deputy Head of the Committee is Mr. Trinh Sy Tai - Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office.

Other members include leaders of key departments and branches such as the Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Science and Technology, and representatives of the Provincial Business Association. This demonstrates cross-sectoral coordination, ensuring comprehensiveness in project implementation.
According to the decision, the Steering Committee is responsible for advising the Provincial People's Committee in promulgating and organizing the implementation of the PCI index plan, and at the same time establishing a assisting team to support professional activities. The consolidation of this steering committee takes place in the context of the upcoming period of 2021 - 2025.
PCI is not only a measure of competitiveness but also an important factor attracting investors. This decision takes effect from the date of signing and replaces the previous Decision No. 457/QD-UBND.
With the establishment of the Steering Committee this time, Cao Bang province expects to significantly improve its PCI rating position in 2025, creating momentum for sustainable socio-economic development.
This is also an important step for the locality to aim to become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors.
It is known that in 2024, although not officially announcing the ranking, based on actual scores, Cao Bang ranked 61st out of 63 provinces and cities in the PCI index. Previously, in 2023 and 2022, this locality was ranked low in the group.
