On the morning of July 8, at the opening session of the 2nd Session of the 8th Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, Mr. Tran Phong - Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee delivered a directive speech, and assigned a number of key tasks in the coming time.
According to the Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, 2026 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress and the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
In the context of the world and regional situation developing complicatedly, the implementation of the 2-level local government model has generated many new tasks, along with the impact of floods at the end of 2025 in some localities, the province still maintains many positive results.
GRDP in the first 6 months of the year increased by 9.03%, ranking 14/34 nationwide and 2nd in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.
State budget revenue reached 74.5% of the estimate, an increase of 82.1% compared to the same period; total social investment capital increased by 15.4%; disbursement of public investment capital reached 41.93% of the plan, higher than the national average.
To date, 81/92 backlog projects under local authority have been resolved.
Besides the achieved results, the Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee said that the growth rate in the first 6 months of the year has not yet reached the set scenario.
Notably, site clearance work is still a prolonged bottleneck, directly affecting the disbursement progress of public investment capital, the ability to attract non-budget investment and the implementation of key projects in the area.
On that basis, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the delegates of the Provincial People's Council to focus on researching and discussing to decide on solutions to implement the double-digit growth target in 2026.
In which, disbursement of public investment capital must continue to be identified as a key political task.
Although the results of the first 6 months of the year reached nearly 42% of the plan, levels and sectors need to strive to complete 100% of the 2026 capital plan, considering this as a direct driving force to promote economic growth and spread social investment.
Regarding site clearance work, Mr. Tran Phong requested levels, sectors, and localities to consider handling and removing difficulties and obstacles as one of the key tasks to promote growth.
