Ha Nam - Duy Tien town will merge the entire natural area and population size of Moc Nam and Moc Bac communes to establish Moc Hoan commune.

The National Assembly Standing Committee has just approved the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for the 2023-2025 period of 12 provinces and cities, including Ha Nam province.

Regarding the implementation of administrative unit arrangement in the period of 2023-2025, Duy Tien town will merge the entire natural area and population size of Moc Nam commune (with a natural area of ​​5.496 km², reaching 26.17% of the standard; population size of 5,113 people, reaching 63.91% of the standard) and Moc Bac commune (with a natural area of ​​9.93 km², reaching 47.29% of the standard; population size of 7,016 people, reaching 87.70% of the standard) to establish Moc Hoan commune.

After establishment, Moc Hoan commune has a natural area of ​​15,426km², reaching 73.47% of the standard; population size of 12,129 people, reaching 151.61% of the standard.

According to Lao Dong reporter's research, Ha Nam province currently has 6 district-level administrative units (4 districts, 1 town, 1 city).

Currently, Phu Ly city is a type I district-level administrative unit; Duy Tien town and Kim Bang, Thanh Liem, Ly Nhan and Binh Luc districts are type II district-level administrative units.

Ha Nam province has 109 commune-level administrative units (including 83 communes, 20 wards, 6 towns). Of which, there are 13 type I communes; 92 type II communes; 4 type III communes.

Through review, Ha Nam province has no district-level administrative units subject to rearrangement; there are 19 commune-level administrative units subject to rearrangement (there are 11 commune-level administrative units subject to rearrangement, 8 adjacent commune-level administrative units related to the rearrangement).
