On the morning of January 13, at the Hanoi City Party Committee headquarters, the Conference of voters of the City Party Committee agency to introduce candidates for National Assembly deputies of the XVI term and Hanoi City People's Council deputies of the XVII term, term 2026–2031 took place.
At the conference, voters of the City Party Committee agency unanimously introduced Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, as a candidate for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term.
The conference also introduced Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, to participate in the election of delegates to the Hanoi City People's Council, term XVII, 2026–2031.
With the majority of delegates in favor, the conference approved the list to introduce Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc as a candidate for National Assembly Deputy of the XVI term and Mr. Nguyen Trong Dong as a candidate for Hanoi City People's Council Deputy of the XVII term, term 2026–2031.
Speaking at the conference, Hanoi Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that the election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term and People's Council deputies of all levels for the 2026–2031 term is a particularly important political event for the country and the Capital.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that he will seriously fully absorb the opinions of voters to continue to self-examine, self-correct, and constantly train and strive in the working process.
Being trusted by voters to introduce candidates for the 16th National Assembly term, I deeply understand that this is not only an honor but also a great political responsibility to the Party, State and People, to voters nationwide in general and to Hanoi voters in particular. If elected, I will continue to strive to train and perform well the key tasks of National Assembly deputies," Hanoi Party Secretary expressed.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc was born in 1964, from Hung Yen province, with a Master's degree in Law.
He had a long time working in the police industry, holding positions: Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police; Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police; Director of the Department of Police for Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling.
In August 2019, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security and held this position for nearly 5 years. Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc was promoted to the rank of Senior General from December 2023.
In early June 2024, he was transferred and assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Chief of the Party Central Committee Office.
In mid-August 2024, the 13th Central Executive Committee of the Party elected Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc as a member of the Secretariat.
In January 2025, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc was additionally elected to the 13th Politburo and elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.
In November 2025, he was transferred and appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the term 2025-2030.
