On August 22, the 13th People's Council of Quang Ngai province, term 2021-2026, held a 3rd session (special session) to review and decide on a number of important contents to serve socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security of the province.
At this session, the People's Council of Quang Ngai province unanimously approved 16 resolutions in many areas such as: main socio-economic development targets in 2025, encouraging the use of fireworks, fee and charge collection rates; deciding and adjusting medium-term and annual public investment plans...

Notably, the Provincial People's Council has passed a Resolution on the assignment of civil servant positions in 2025. Accordingly, the total number of civil servants in local government agencies is 2,386, including 2,298 provincial-level positions and 88 reserve positions. At the commune, ward and special zone levels, the total number of positions is 5,618, of which 4,235 are official positions and 1,383 are reserve positions.
The Provincial People's Council also approved the number of employees receiving salaries from the State budget at public service units in 2025 as 36,326 people, including 9,636 people at the provincial level, 26,345 people at the commune level and 345 people in reserve.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Duc Tuy, it has been nearly 2 months since Resolution No. 202/2025/QH15 dated June 12, 2025 of the National Assembly on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units, the new Quang Ngai province officially came into operation from July 1, 2025.
In order to promptly meet the requirements of political tasks, socio-economic development, national defense and security in the area, the Provincial People's Council has held 2 sessions (including the first session and the regular session in the middle of the year), passing 20 resolutions under its authority (5 resolutions on legal norms and 15 separate resolutions). The 3rd session, taking place today (8.22), is the first thematic session of the Provincial People's Council after the merger.
Mr. Tuy emphasized that the session took place in the context of only 4 months left to complete the development targets for 2025. All levels and sectors need to resolutely implement solutions to increase GRDP in the last 6 months of the year by 8.8% and the whole year by 10%; exploit the potential and strengths of industry, agriculture, tourism; at the same time promote science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and develop high-quality human resources.
He also suggested that the Provincial People's Committee focus on directing the acceleration of investment progress, disbursement of key projects, removing difficulties and obstacles, creating momentum for socio-economic development, ensuring the completion of growth goals.
At this session, the Provincial People's Council also announced the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on appointing Mr. A Vuong - Member of the Executive Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee - to hold the position of Head of the Ethnic Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term, replacing Mr. Ro Cham Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Ethnic Committee to retire at personal request.
