Vietnam Lawyers Association successfully organizes the 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress

Before the official working session began, the congress spent a minute commemorating the people of the Central and Central Highlands provinces who died due to storms and floods and conducted a donation to support people in disaster areas to soon overcome difficulties and losses to stabilize their lives and continue to develop.

Compete for more unity, innovation, and creativity

Speaking at the opening of the congress, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Ngoc - Party Committee Secretary, President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association emphasized that the 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Lawyers Association took place in the context of the whole country competing to achieve achievements towards welcoming the 14th National Congress of the Party and the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

The Congress is an opportunity for the Vietnam Lawyers Association at all levels to summarize the emulation movements implemented in the past 5 years, propose directions, tasks, and solutions to continue promoting, innovating, and improving the effectiveness of emulation movements in the coming time. In particular, the Congress will honor advanced models - the brightest flowers in the patriotic flower garden for the past 5 years that have been voted and honored by the Association's organizations.

According to Mr. Nguyen Khanh Ngoc, 77 years ago, beloved President Ho Chi Minh issued the Appeal for Patriotic Emulation. That sacred call has become a beacon to light the way, arousing and fostering the spirit of patriotism, the indomitable and indomitable will and creativity of many generations of Vietnamese people in the cause of resistance and national construction.

Following Uncle Ho's teachings: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism must compete, those who compete are the most patriotic", Vietnamese lawyers deeply recognize that patriotic emulation is a great motivation to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully completing all tasks. As Uncle Ho once taught, "Together, promote the patriotic race, we can overcome any difficulties and complete any tasks excellently".

Imbued with His thinking, in the period of 2020 - 2025, despite facing many challenges and difficulties, the Vietnam Lawyers Association at all levels has continuously promoted patriotic emulation movements, considering overcoming difficulties and challenges as an opportunity to affirm the position and role of lawyers in the country's development process with many positive work results.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, in the context of the whole country making efforts to make many breakthroughs in development to bring the country into a new era of development, the 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Lawyers Association not only summarizes the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020 - 2025 but also aims to set out directions and tasks for the emulation period 2025 - 2030 in the spirit of ensuring the effective implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the strategic development orientations set by the Party Central Committee and the Politburo, Directive No. 41 dated December 26, 2024 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership in emulation and reward work in the new situation, towards responding to the emulation movements of the Central Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front... associated with the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Law.

"Promoting the 70-year tradition of building and maturing with many achievements and new determination, I believe that the Vietnam Lawyers Association will continue to uphold the spirit of patriotic emulation, unity, proactiveness in innovation and creativity to make more contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Fully recognizing the position, role, and special significance of emulation and reward in arousing and motivating people to overcome difficulties and challenges to successfully complete increasingly heavy tasks, each cadre and member of the legal community should consider organizing and participating in emulation movements as both a responsibility and an honor for themselves, starting right from today's Congress", Mr. Nguyen Khanh Ngoc affirmed.

The President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association hopes that the success of the Congress will create new motivation and confidence, spread a widespread emulation movement, encourage the team of lawyers nationwide to continue to unite, be creative, overcome challenges, strive to excellently complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State and People, confidently entering a new era of prosperity and happiness with the whole country.

5 years of exciting patriotic emulation of the legal community

Reporting on the results of the patriotic emulation movement and reward work in the period of 2020 - 2025, Dr. Tran Cong Phan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association affirmed that in the past 5 years, the propaganda, dissemination, implementation of the Party's policies and laws, and the guidance of the Central Emulation and Reward Board on emulation and reward work have always been of interest to the Vietnam Lawyers Association and Lawyers Associations at all levels across the country, organized and implemented seriously, methodically and effectively.

Based on the Law on Emulation and Commendation and guiding documents for implementation, the Association has issued the Regulations on Emulation and Commendation; decided to divide Emulation Clusters according to the administrative boundaries of each area and decided to assign Clusters of Clusters and Deputy Clusters of Emulation Clusters. At the same time, provide timely preliminary guidance, summary of emulation work and reward evaluation.

The Association at all levels is always proactive, actively responding, and participating in emulation movements organized by localities, agencies, units, and the Vietnam Lawyers Association. Many units have concretized movements, built models, and had good and creative ways of doing things such as: Association of Skilled Mass Mobilization Lawyers; Association of Lawyers of communes, wards and towns participating in reviewing, developing and implementing local codes and conventions; cadres and members of the Lawyers Association competing to implement office culture; emulation movement to write exemplary articles for lawyers...

In particular, every year, the Vietnam Lawyers Association has launched an emulation movement with specific topics, closely following the Association's key political and professional tasks. For example, in 2025, the patriotic emulation movement has the theme "Associations at all levels are united, proactive, creative, innovative, improving the quality and effectiveness of Association activities in the new era of development - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise".

According to the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, in the past 5 years, through emulation movements, many aspects of the Association's work have achieved remarkable positive results.

The work of participating in policy and law making; social supervision and criticism; scientific and legal research of associations at all levels has been promoted with a more proactive spirit, richer, more diverse and more effective forms and methods; the quality of activities has been improved, contributing positively to the development and improvement of policies and laws of the country.

The work of participating in propagating and disseminating the guidelines, policies and policies of the Party and the laws of the State; mobilizing people to respect and comply with the law; legal advice and legal aid has been implemented synchronously and effectively by the Association at all levels, and has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party, the State and the people. During the peak month in response to Vietnam Law Day 2025, a series of activities to propagate, disseminate laws, provide legal aid, and provide free legal advice to people and businesses were implemented simultaneously at both the central and local levels, leaving many good impressions of the Vietnam Lawyers Association.

The work of participating in judicial reform and administrative reform has been increasingly carried out proactively and actively, bringing the voice of legal experts - those who are always loyal to the Party's ideals, protecting justice, protecting human rights on the basis of law, in the process of reforming, building and perfecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam's rule of law.

Foreign affairs and international cooperation are increasingly enhanced in both breadth and depth, gradually enhancing the proactive and active image of the Vietnam Bar Association in the progressive legal community in the world, contributing significantly to the implementation of the Party's orientations on people's diplomacy and cooperation with foreign countries on law in the new situation.

From the patriotic emulation movements, many bright examples, good people, good deeds have appeared. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Lawyers Association (April 4, 55 - April 4, 2025), the Association was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal from the President. Many collectives and individuals at all levels of the Lawyers Association are also honored to be awarded Labor Medals and Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister, ministries, branches, Party committees and local authorities.

In the past 5 years, 79 collectives in the Association system have been awarded the title of "Emulation Flag of the Vietnam Lawyers Association", 4,300 collectives and individuals have been awarded Certificates of Merit by the President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association and 1878 individuals have been awarded the 'For the Development of the Vietnam Lawyers Association' Medal". These are vivid evidence of the strength of the spirit of solidarity, intelligence, creativity and aspiration to rise up of Vietnamese lawyers, actively contributing to the cause of building and developing the country, affirming the position of the Vietnam Lawyers Association in recent times.

Summarizing the patriotic emulation movement in the period of 2020-2025, at this Congress, 6 collectives were awarded the Emulation Flag, 33 collectives and 82 individuals are typical examples of advanced and honored to be awarded Certificates of Merit by the President of the Association.
