On the afternoon of November 27, the Office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee said that the forces and vehicles on duty for storm No. 15 (Koto) include 150,395 officers and soldiers (old Guard: 51,810; militia: 98,585), 5,471 vehicles of all kinds (cars: 3,085; special vehicles: 489; ships: 646; boats, canoes: 1,239; helicopters: 6, other vehicles 553) on duty, ready for rescue missions.
Regarding the counting of ships, provinces and cities on the sea route from Quang Tri to Ho Chi Minh City coordinated to notify, count, and guide 48,380 vehicles/246,758 people who knew the developments and direction of storm No. 15 to proactively move, avoid, and escape from dangerous areas.
Of which, anchored at ports: 44,386 ships/224,955 people; At sea activities: 3,994 ships/23,803 people. Vehicles have received warning information and are moving around the bypass; no vehicles are in the dangerous area.
During the day, the Ministry of National Defense mobilized: 28,392 officers and soldiers (Body: 16,055, militia: 12,337)/963 vehicles of all kinds (607 cars, 142 boats, 25 special vehicles, 2 flycams, 13 pumps, 174 other vehicles) to overcome the consequences of floods and inundation in the Central provinces.
Organizing forces help people clean and disinfect 111 schools, 257 hectares of other areas, 142 domestic wells, 2,594 houses, 93 government headquarters, 3 cemeteries, 30 medical stations, 15.5km of roads, repair 66km of roads, build and clear 2,600m of canals, transport 215m3 of waste;
The forces donated 260 million VND, supported 1,300 sets of clothes, 1,240 scarves, 394 gift packages, 48m3 of soft drinks, 100 meals, transported 71 tons of goods, unloaded 23 tons of necessities;
The forces also examined and treated 282 people, and handled the incident for 1,680 phone subscribers in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong provinces.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 1:00 p.m. on November 27, the center of the storm was at about 13.20 North latitude, 113.50 East longitude, about 230km North-Northwest of Song Tu Tay Island. The strongest wind near the storm center is level 12 (118-133km/h), gusting to level 15. Moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of about 10km/h.
