More than 1.8 million participants participate in learning knowledge about bomb and mine accident prevention

The online competition on post-war bomb and mine accident prevention attracted more than 1.8 million participants.

On May 26, in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) held a conference to summarize and award prizes for the online contest "Raising awareness of preventing mine and bomb accidents after the war in Vietnam" in 2026.

Stemming from Vietnam's practical requirements and responding to the International Day for Mine and Bomb Conscience and Mine Action Support, VNMAC coordinates with functional agencies, ministries, branches, and localities to organize the 2026 online contest nationwide.

At the same time, coordinate with organizations to launch an online contest within the framework of the "Bomb and Mine Action for Vietnam Peace Village - Korea" project (KVPVP project) implemented in 3 provinces: Hue, Quang Ngai and Gia Lai.

According to Senior Colonel Nghiem Xuan Long - Deputy General Director of VNMAC, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, the planning process was implemented closely, closely following practical requirements, ensuring practicality, efficiency, thrift and high spillover effects in the community.

VNMAC has upgraded the online exam software, optimized the interface, increased the ability to process a large number of people accessing at the same time; supplemented a question bank suitable for many groups of subjects, especially students, youth union members and people in areas still affected by bombs and mines, explosives after the war.

At the conference, Colonel Le Quang Hop - Deputy General Director of VNMAC - said that during the organization period from April 4 - May 4, 2026, the contest attracted over 1.8 million participants, creating a positive spillover effect, contributing to raising awareness and changing behavior in preventing bomb and mine accidents.

Based on the exam results, the Organizing Committee recognized the exam results for 23 contestants who won prizes nationwide, including: 1 First Prize; 3 Second Prizes; 4 Third Prizes and 15 Consolation Prizes.

For the contest within the framework of the KVPVP project in Hue, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, there were 189,132 participants, the Organizing Committee recorded and proposed awarding: 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 6 Consolation Prizes.

Ms. Ramla Khalidi stated clearly that education on preventing bomb and mine accidents and explosives must continue to reach everyone, especially people in remote and isolated areas, people with disabilities, children who cannot go to school and ethnic minorities, to ensure that no one is left behind.
