During the official visit to Algeria, on the afternoon of November 19 (local time), in the capital Algiers, Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister of Algeria Sifi Ghrieb attended the Vietnam - Algeria Economic Forum with the theme: For an effective and sustainable economic partnership.
Speaking at the forum, Prime Minister of Algeria Sifi Ghrieb welcomed the forum with the goal of towards an effective and sustainable economic partnership between Vietnam and Algeria, demonstrating the determination of both countries, not only for good memories but also quickly implementing the framework of the Strategic Partnership between the two sides that has just been agreed upon for upgrading, for future development.
The Algeria Prime Minister said Algeria wants the products that Algeria has exported to the world to have a location in Vietnam, especially products of plant origin, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, and goods.
The Algeria Prime Minister suggested that Algeria's businesses and investors negotiate with Vietnamese businesses to find specific cooperation associations so that Algeria can export more products to the Vietnamese market and vice versa, especially in the fields of technology, agriculture, digital transformation, energy, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and tourism promotion.
Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb said that Algeria currently has a strategic position, which is the gateway to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Algeria is a friend of Vietnam, businesses should welcome this opportunity, with the cooperation of NAM-NAM countries.
Speaking at the forum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the Vietnam - Algeria Economic Forum is historic because the Forum was of interest to General Secretary To Lam and the President of Algeria, as well as the participation of the Prime Ministers of both countries; The Forum was held right after the two countries upgraded their relations to a Strategic Partnership; This is the largest forum ever between the two countries; The Forum refers to all economic sectors, such as the Prime Minister of Algeria affirming that economic cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria is unlimited.
Assessing that Algeria has a geographical location, climate, resources and many potential and strengths for investment, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Vietnamese enterprises focus on investment cooperation in Algeria in the fields of energy including oil and gas exploitation, petrochemical, wind energy development, solar energy; at the same time, research on investment in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, agricultural and aquatic product processing, production, science and technology as affirmed by the President of Algeria, affirming that Vietnamese enterprises can invest in Algeria from tea cultivation to 5G chip production, in the spirit of "algeria's benefits as Vietnam's benefits; the benefits of the people of Algeria as well as the benefits of the Vietnamese people; the results of enterprises in Algeria as Vietnam's".
Proposing that the two sides establish and upgrade existing cooperation mechanisms to promote cooperation and investment, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believes that with new momentum, new motivation, new resources, and the achieved results, the two countries will act in accordance with the Vietnam - Algeria Strategic Partnership and be worthy of the precious heritage that previous generations have built.
