Here, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly congratulated India, under the leadership of the Government and the National Assembly led by the National Democratic Alliance and the core being the People's Power Party (BIP), for its strong development, achieving many impressive achievements in both economy, military and science and technology, contributing to continuously strengthening the role and position of India in the region and the world.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam's consistent policy always attaches importance to its relationship with India, hoping that through this visit, it will continue to strengthen political trust and friendship between the two countries and the two National Assemblies, contributing to further deepening and substantiating cooperation in various fields.
Speaker Om Birla expressed his pleasure at welcoming Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai and the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation to visit India, affirming that the visit contributes to further strengthening the bilateral relationship.
Speaker Om Birla highly appreciated Vietnam's recent achievements in economic growth and development, sharing that India is also focusing resources on developing the country, aiming to become a developed country; and said that the two countries are facing great opportunities to further expand cooperation in various fields.
The two sides agreed to increase exchanges of high-level delegations and at all levels, and between the leaders of the two countries' National Assemblies, support the expansion of bilateral cooperation on the pillars of politics, defense - security, economy - trade - investment, agriculture, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
The Speaker of the Indian House of Representatives highly appreciated and agreed with the opinion of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai on the need to further promote two-way trade and investment, towards the goal of two-way trade turnover reaching 20 billion USD in the coming time, strongly implementing measures to further open the market.
Strengthening agricultural cooperation - a field in which the two countries have many common points; promoting cultural and tourism cooperation, increasing tours, routes, tourism products and aviation connections between the two countries.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai thanked India for continuing to provide financial and technical support for the restoration of the Cham tower groups at the My Son - UNESCO heritage site.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly also suggested that the two countries further increase mutual investment, calling on large Indian corporations to invest in Vietnam in various fields, especially strategic infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and high technology.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Om Birla said that the Indian House of Representatives will soon establish the India - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group; said he was ready to support Vietnam in training lawmakers and invited Vietnamese National Assembly delegations to India to exchange and share experiences.
Also within the framework of the visit to India, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai visited and worked with the Audit and Control Authority of India.
