On September 16, the Party Central Committee Office issued Official Dispatch No. 5045-CV/VPTW on the Press Release considering and disciplining violating party members.
According to the press release, on September 16, 2026, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, after considering the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee on disciplinary action against violating party members, the Secretariat found:
Mr. Tran Van Thuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Health (formerly: Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of K Hospital); Nguyen Huy Ngoc - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee (formerly: Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Phu Tho Provincial Department of Health) have declined in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned responsibilities and tasks; in preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.
At the same time, violating regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and very badly affecting the prestige of Party organizations, localities, agencies, and working units.
Based on the content, nature, severity, consequences, and causes of violations; based on the Party's regulations on disciplinary action against violating party members, the Secretariat decided to impose the disciplinary action of Expulsion from the Party on Mr. Tran Van Thuan and Nguyen Huy Ngoc.
It is proposed that functional agencies promptly and synchronously implement administrative discipline with Party discipline.
Previously, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1734/QD-TTg dated September 6, 2026 on temporarily suspending Mr. Tran Van Thuan - Deputy Minister of Health, Chairman of the National Medical Council.
The Prime Minister's decision clearly states that Mr. Tran Van Thuan - Deputy Minister of Health, Chairman of the National Medical Council will be temporarily suspended from work until a decision from a competent authority is issued.
