On September 5, the Government Department of Information and Communications said that Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc signed Decision No. 1722/QD-TTg dated September 4, 2026 of the Prime Minister on disciplinary action against Mr. Hoang Trung - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment.
The Prime Minister's Decision clearly states: Discipline in the form of dismissal for Mr. Hoang Trung - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment due to violations and shortcomings in his work and the Secretariat has disciplined the Party.
The time of disciplinary action is from the date Decision No. 276-QDNS/TW dated July 31, 2026 of the Secretariat takes effect.
Previously, on July 28, 2026, the Secretariat considered the proposal of the Central Inspection Committee on disciplinary action against violating party members against Mr. Hoang Trung - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment.
The Secretariat found that Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Hoang Trung had declined in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; violating Party regulations and State laws.
Mr. Hoang Trung also violated the regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing very serious consequences, public outrage, and very badly affecting the prestige of the Party organization, locality, agency, and working unit.
Based on the content, nature, severity, consequences, and causes of violations; based on the Party's regulations on disciplinary action against violating party members, the Secretariat decided to impose the disciplinary action of expulsion from the Party on Mr. Hoang Trung.
According to the announcement of functional agencies, Mr. Hoang Trung and other defendants abused their positions and powers to issue illegal policies, showing signs of creating "sub-licenses" to serve group interests and profit from a particularly large amount of money.
The defendants also interfered and directed subordinates to issue false inspection certificates, planting area codes; illegally trading planting area codes and packaging facility codes for durian.
Based on the results of the investigation, collection of documents and evidence, the Department of Police for Investigation of Corruption, Economic Crimes, and Smuggling has prosecuted the accused and arrested the accused for temporary detention against Mr. Hoang Trung for the crime of "Receiving bribes" as prescribed in Article 354 of the Penal Code.
