The Kim Dong Monument project was designed and constructed based on the sketch model of sculptor Trinh The Hoi, which was approved by the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee. The Kim Dong Monument with the material of a white stone monument - engraved with the image of the Hero of the People's Armed Forces of Kim Dong, is located in the Kim Dong flower garden with a height of 4.35m, the total construction area is 167.4m2.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai said that the Golden Bronze Monument is a valuable and historically educational work of art, fostering patriotism among the city's youth, encouraging the enthusiastic spirit of competing to study, practice, and promote the tradition of "Youth is great".
When completed, the Kim Dong Monument will be a highlight in Hai Phong urban and tourism architecture, contributing to improving cultural and spiritual life, attracting people and tourists. This is also a meaningful event on the occasion of the 82nd Anniversary of the Loss of Heroic Martyrs of Kim Dong.
