Press - an institutional bridge with production practice
Vietnamese press, with its revolutionary mission forged since the renovation period, is not only a reporter but also a reliable companion for private enterprises on the journey to create a socialist-oriented market economy. Each article reflects policies, each bulletin removes legal bottlenecks, each series of articles honors good entrepreneurs, genuine businesses... all are institutional bridges with production and business practices.
In the context of many private enterprises facing prejudices, administrative barriers and even "crisis of trust" from public opinion, mainstream press plays a role in protecting, clarifying and spreading positive energy. Not only stopping at policy communication, the press also contributes to creating a healthy business environment.
On May 4, 2025, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW on private economic development, opening a new journey to unleash, elevate and unleash internal strength in the Vietnamese economy. The Resolution has re-positioned the role of the private economy as one of the most important pillars in today's socialist-oriented market economy.
Right in the tasks and solutions, the Resolution affirms: "Promoting communication work, raising awareness and action, arousing the spirit of business, entrepreneurship, confidence, self-reliance, and national pride of all people to strongly promote the development of the private economy.
Media agencies and newspapers need to improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda information, ensure objectivity, honesty, completeness, encourage and spread good models, good practices, creativity, efficiency, and encourage the spirit of business in the whole society. harassment, negative acts, and providing false and inaccurate information that affects businesses and entrepreneurs are strictly prohibited.

If in the past, the press was simply the "publication of resolutions", today the press must be the force that explains policies, criticizes policies, and proposes policies. To do so, it is necessary to shift from thinking as news to thinking as strategy. Each policy group in Resolution 68 needs to be turned into articles, series, columns, videos, talkshow, podcasts, seminars, forums... with the implementation method increasing attractiveness, ease of understanding, sharing, and easy to spread.
Another important factor is that there must be a generation of reporters who "know how to write policies, understand the economy, and feel life". This requires press and media agencies to promote coordination and training activities focusing on market economy, institutions, corporate law, public investment, digital transformation, etc.
It is necessary to build quick response groups to policy communication, especially in information crisis situations. Honoring leading journalists in policy communication, strengthening trust; honoring "pans" who are not only sharp but also alert, honest and responsible for the nation and people.
Press provides objective and honest information about the private economy
Speaking at the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly, Central Party Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc affirmed: Developing the private economy is necessary and correct. We need to decide on the policy of developing the private economy along with other economic sectors to create a breakthrough for the economy".
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc acknowledged that Vietnam should study surrounding countries such as Korea and Japan, which have developed very successful private economies. Korea has developed very strongly since the 60-80s of the last century, with corporations such as Samsung, Lotte, Posco... leading the world. An open mechanism and incentives are needed to ensure fairness, transparency, and no distinction between private economic sectors.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the current need of private enterprises is to receive incentives and support in terms of technology, human resources and market. Along with that, businesses also need a transparent administrative procedure implementation process in accordance with the motto "The State creates, businesses implement".
In the action plan to implement Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW, the Government also requested ministries, branches, localities, business associations, and industry sectors to develop and organize regular and extensive propaganda programs on the content of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW and the position and role of the private economy in the direction of: Diversifying forms and methods of propaganda; specifying propaganda content for each target group; developing thematic communication programs on private economic development on television, radio, social networks, electronic newspapers to arouse the spirit of business and start-ups, strongly promoting the development of the private economy.
Ministries, branches and localities develop plans to implement the Government's Action Plan with specific Quantified goals; assign responsibility to heads of agencies and units, thoroughly disseminate to all civil servants, public employees and workers to change their thinking, awareness, action, fair treatment, equality with the private economy, build a relationship between the government and businesses to be open, friendly, accompanying, honest, and creating development.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs media agencies and the press to improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda work; provide objective, honest and complete information about the private economy; encourage and spread good models, good practices, creativity, efficiency, encourage business spirit in the whole society; strictly handle and publicize harassment, negativity, providing false and inaccurate information, affecting businesses, business households, business individuals and entrepreneurs.
This is not just a reminder, but a political order for the revolutionary press and media force. The press needs to arouse social awareness, create a sense of entrepreneurship, protect good entrepreneurs and genuine businesses with truth.
It can be seen that when private enterprises are a main driving force of the economy, writing correctly, writing accurately, writing promptly to protect and promote them is contributing to the realization of the national development strategy. As General Secretary To Lam once said: "The new era also requires new tasks, higher for revolutionary journalism, requiring journalism to develop commensurately, rise up with the nation, worthy of a professional, humane, and modern journalism".
