The event took place on the morning of January 15 and is an important milestone, marking the beginning of the process of deploying the two Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power plants - national key projects in the strategy to ensure energy security and sustainable development of the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that Vietnam is entering a new era of development, setting a double-digit economic growth target, in which energy plays a prerequisite role, closely linked to the commitment to net emissions of "0".
Investing in the development of nuclear energy, especially the two nuclear power plants in Ninh Thuan, has long-term strategic significance for national energy security.
According to the plan approved by the National Assembly, the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project includes 2 plants, with a total capacity of about 4,000 MW, built on an area of more than 1,100 hectares, expected to be put into operation in the period 2030 - 2031.

Currently, the Government is continuing to submit to the National Assembly to complete specific mechanisms and policies for the project; and at the same time working with international partners to negotiate and deploy the construction of the plant to ensure safety and efficiency.
In parallel with investment preparation, human resources are identified as key tasks.
Over the past time, the Steering Committee for Nuclear Power Plant Construction has assigned investors to develop a master plan for training, sending officials to study, and developing in-depth human resources on nuclear energy, meeting the requirements of building and operating nuclear power plants safely in the future.
Regarding migration and resettlement work, according to reports from functional agencies, the total area recovered to serve the two Ninh Thuan nuclear power plants is about over 1,100 hectares, affecting more than 1,100 households, with over 5,000 people in Phuoc Dinh and Vinh Hai communes.
For the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant Project alone, it is necessary to arrange resettlement for about 470 households. The resettlement area is invested in synchronously with technical infrastructure and social infrastructure, ensuring stable and long-term living conditions for people.
Expressing emotion at the consensus and sharing of people in the project area, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son noted that many households have proactively relocated, given up land, and moved houses to serve project implementation.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested all levels and sectors to organize the implementation of compensation, support, and resettlement work publicly and transparently, ensuring that people have a new place to live and better livelihoods than the old place.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the investor and construction units to implement the project to ensure progress, quality, safety and environment; ministries and sectors strengthen coordination, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for localities.
This is a key national project, the Central Government will directly monitor, guide and accompany the locality throughout the implementation process.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and the working delegation presented gifts to typical households, setting an example in relocating and giving land to the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project.
