VNA reported that on January 5, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the Chairman of AFK Sistema Group, Russian Federation, Mr. Vladimir Petrovich Evtushenkov, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam always values and wishes to develop traditional friendly relations with the Russian Federation; highly appreciates AFK Sistema Group for its rapid development and has worked with large corporations and enterprises of Vietnam to promote relations and cooperation in various fields as outlined by General Secretary To Lam during his visit to Russia in May 2025, practically contributing to bringing the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership relationship into depth, substance and efficiency.
Requesting the group to cooperate more closely and effectively with Vietnamese businesses to realize the agreements of senior leaders, the Prime Minister emphasized a number of areas of cooperation that Russia may be strong in and Vietnam is in great need of such as building and connecting databases, information technology, digital transformation, network security, banking, pharmaceuticals, nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, telecommunications, development of the cryptocurrency asset market in Vietnam, and at the same time promoting projects to exploit underground space and space, including the development of subways in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and tourism cooperation.
Providing information on Vietnam's development orientations, especially Vietnam's priority sectors where Russia has strengths, the Prime Minister said that Vietnam is preparing to implement the national single window mechanism to support the group in implementing cooperation, trade promotion, and investment activities in Vietnam; requesting the group and member companies to strengthen sharing of information and experience in governance; support human resource training, technology transfer... for the Vietnamese side.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister requested the Russian Embassy in Vietnam to support and closely coordinate with ministries, branches, and relevant agencies of the two countries to urgently complete negotiations on the Intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in building Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant before January 15.
Mr. Vladimir Petrovich Evtushenkov said that AFK Sistema is the largest private corporation in the Russian Federation with about 300,000 employees.
