There are no limits in Qatar's relations with Vietnam

On October 31, in Doha, Qatar, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his joy and emotion at meeting the Emir of Qatar again after a year with many advances in bilateral relations; he expressed his impression of the Emir's saying "Vietnam - Qatar relations are limitless", showing the Emir's concern and affection for Vietnam as well as the relationship between the two countries.

The Emir of Qatar expressed his great pleasure at meeting Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh again. The Emir of Qatar said that in addition to traditional areas of cooperation, the two sides need to expand cooperation in new areas, especially science and technology, innovation, energy, etc. and that Qatar is ready to increase investment in Vietnam in the coming time.

Affirming that there are no limits in relations with Vietnam, the Emir of Qatar said that Qatar is always open to cooperation activities with Vietnam, suggesting that both sides seek common areas of cooperation; saying that after the talks between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Prime Minister of Qatar, the two countries will sign many important documents, creating a foundation to deepen bilateral relations. However, the relationship between the two countries does not stop at these documents, but the two sides need to promote new cooperation opportunities, with focus and key points, especially in the fields of strategic investment at national level, large infrastructure construction projects, etc. The Emir of Qatar supports and hopes that more Vietnamese companies will invest in Qatar, and agrees to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and work stably in Qatar.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the Emir of Qatar to continue to pay attention to and support the promotion of Vietnam-Qatar relations, realize the determination and commitments of the leaders of both sides, including considering early negotiations and signing of important documents, creating a solid legal framework for bilateral cooperation such as: Free Trade Agreement or Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, Agreement on Ensuring Food Security, Energy Security between the two countries; promote the Qatar Investment Fund to invest in strategic infrastructure, medical infrastructure, educational infrastructure, etc.

The Prime Minister affirmed that with a large population of over 100 million people, Vietnam can supplement resources for Qatar by increasing the number of high-quality workers to work in Qatar; thanked and requested Qatar to continue providing Arabic language scholarships for Vietnamese students; encouraged the two sides to expand cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, etc.

The two sides agreed to soon upgrade relations to a new height, meeting the aspirations and interests of the people of the two countries; enhance coordination and consultation on regional and international issues, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The two leaders welcomed the promotion of people-to-people exchanges, cultural connections, negotiations and signing of visa exemption agreements for ordinary passport holders, and the facilitation of travel for citizens of the two countries; and agreed to assign ministries and sectors to immediately implement commitments and agreements made during the visit.
