Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jasim Al-Thani went to the car to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

On the morning of October 31, local time, at the Amiri Diwan Palace in the capital Doha, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jasim Al-Thani presided over the official welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, on an official visit to the State of Qatar.

According to VNA, in the bright sunshine, when the motorcade carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh entered the Amiri Diwan Palace, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jasim Al-Thani went out to the car to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

At the Amiri Diwan Palace, the honor guard and officials of the two countries were ready to welcome them. When Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Prime Minister of the State of Qatar took their positions of honor, all eyes turned to the national flags of the two countries, the national anthems of Vietnam and Qatar were solemnly played.

To the majestic background music, the two Prime Ministers inspected the honor guard in parallel; then the two Prime Ministers introduced to each other the officials from each side attending the welcoming ceremony.

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, also at the Amiri Diwan Palace, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Prime Minister of the State of Qatar led high-ranking delegations of the two countries to hold talks.

This is the first official visit of a Vietnamese Prime Minister to Qatar in 15 years, taking place in the context of the relationship between the two countries being on a good development path with many substantial results. However, the bilateral trade turnover in 2023 only reached 497.2 million USD. Currently, there are about 450 Vietnamese people working, living, studying and working in Qatar.

Both sides realized that there is still much room to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in potential areas such as politics-diplomacy, economics, energy, tourism and labor...

Therefore, during this official visit to the State of Qatar, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks and meetings with the King, Prime Minister, and National Assembly Chairman; worked with Qatari ministers, businesses, and investment funds to discuss ways to continue strengthening political trust; create momentum, open a new phase of cooperation in the relationship between the two countries; especially in attracting investment from Qatar to Vietnam and creating breakthroughs for Vietnamese goods and services to access the Qatari market and the region.

In addition to promoting cooperation in traditional fields, the two sides established mechanisms to promote cooperation in new fields such as science and technology, clean energy, digital transformation, innovation, Halal industry development, etc. In particular, they agreed to soon upgrade Vietnam - Qatar relations to a new level as a foundation and condition for the two sides to strengthen cooperation in all fields.
